yeah that's true. 90% of the srt-4 owners think they are driving jets. i mean, they are fast, but they aren't the fastest things on the road. my brother drives one, we have an AGP Turbo kit installed in it, pushing a little over 413whp, so i know what they are capable of especially on stock internals (except injectors). if you go on the srt-4 forums, they are a bunch of morons, well like i said, 90% of them.

come on now even at stage three it wont take you anything to catch it. plus lets really have a race at a track from a stop. then lets see what happens. You dont need much more to have that car at 350 to the wheels. Then let him pull up i bet it is a different story then. Don't be down harted. Our fd's look and drive a whole lot better. You are comparing an FD that isnt even made anymore to a car that prob just came out a year or two ago that is very fast out of the factory, on top of that he prob modified it a lot. His car is prob 10 year younger than yours and hella fast for one reason the factory

 

if you have a family and need a bit of passing power on the highways, why not SRT-4? now if you want a better "all Round car" go with some better -------> FD or any RX 7 for that matter, you are comparing a 4 door mopar tuned, bubble verus one of the most highly sought after cars in the world and they are jsut getting more rare, SRT-4s are everywhere, just be happy you can own something that every guy going through a mid life crisis can't cause he don't have the money, ya they are straight line fast give them that redit, but hell is the only race track the 1/4 mile? cahllenge him to an autocross one time and just royaly rape him, then see who is doing loser flybys. I don't hate on the cars they are decent you must have respect for the cars abilites but remember the driver bought it, if he has no respect for you then give him the ****. no matter what car you cannot get too high on any certain perch saying that your paticluar car dominates all look at racers, or hockey players, ya then they are out there they are a force to reconed with but afterwards, they can still shake hands. i believe that what it all bout.

SRT-4s are good cars, so what if you lost? You win some you loose some suck it up and stop bitching about it. My friend has an SRT-4 (he got it because of me) its a pretty fast car out of the box. But yes they cant handle for **** in stock form (degrees amber, six inch wide tires) The other day i was going on a local curvy road.(hot spot for clubs) We were in my friends SRT and there was a probe who thought he was hot **** in front of us, he gunned it and caught up about 100 meters to the probe in no time, then we were shooting threw the corners an the srt lost traction, spun out and we allmost went into a ditch. But my friends a pretty good driver and recovered well. Fun ****.

 

I dont know, FDs and srt4s are pretty even on paper...If it just blew right by you while you were WOT then youre done! I seriously doubt 350 would do, not against 400.

I've watched many vids of the srt's in action and they are definately a car to be reckoned with. I wouldn't touch one, but then again my car doesn't even grasp at the rotaries potential. Not to be too biased here, but it kinda suckz how fast these "once economy" cars are getting right out of the box. The new civic with 197hp....w/o turbo. I think that's ridiculous. Shoot, by the time i get gray hair the new civics and neons will probably be playin around with the C5 and C6 vettes.... (sure hope not)

 

Flyby's are so gay....I beat a stage 2 rather easilly so you can get him next time...I wasnt a race not even a roll..then its diff....

 

I played w/ a Srt4 just the other week. I was cruising on the freeway at night w/ my buddy ryan (Needfd) and suddenly I heard the bov going off right next to me. I thought it was wrx at first w/ the round lights (I have bad vision at night). After a second look I realized it was a SRT4, the guy kept blowing his bov right next to me like there's no tomorrow and suddenly punched it. When I threw it in 3rd, he was about 1 car ahead of me. Seconds later, I flew by him like nothing. By the time i looked back, he was about 15-20 cars behind me. Most of the time I usually down shift to 5th, not 3rd. The SRT4 i raced wasnt fast, maybe i got lucky and raced a stock one.

sometimes people say they have "stage 2" and only really have injectors, wastegate, and ecu and some random stuff. if it were a full and "right" stage 2, it would have an upgraded turbo and the works. i know some guy in my town that has "stage 2" (only the parts noted above without toys) and got smoked by a STOCK SRT-4, literally smoked. you can't really believe peoples' mods these days until you actually see what's under hood. oh yeah, bee's a bitch

 

Srt-4s are no means "fast" They are quick cars, but you have to do SO much to them to even touch the 12's. I mean, you have to run a stage 2, high *** boost, and slicks to hit 12.70s. Seriously, my fd has intake, exhaust,stock mount,pettit ecu on 12psi and 99 spec twins blowing smoke, and i walked away from a stage3 srt-4 on the highway. By about 2 cars. My car is no means fast. I run 12.80s on street tires and no launch. But Srt-4s can be built *fast* they just take SO much money and SO much work to get them there. Just my point. Nice death, dont be ashamed, if he was stage 3 than you need some stuff to run with him.

i started doubting the speed of stage 3 srt4s the day my friend's 92 tsi fwd with about 10k under the hood beat one 0-120 by 3-4 bus lengths, and that was without him knowing it was tuned down by the mechanic for his mom, also he had only the stock boost pressure and i/c

 

It really just doesn't matter how "fast" they can be...the car is just so damn ugly. Its like I can't help but laugh any time I see one of the little "extra strength" tylenols scooting around.
