fc vs. ford lightning

Sup all, I dont usually post kills but this one took me by surprise. And the story begins late/early morning, coming home after the usual kick spot with the homies. My clutch is slipping bad, tired, and just want to get home. Turning on to the "cruise strip" now and I think to myself "****!! its racer night" so I just hope no one revs their motors at me. Fawking annoying, you know whats up. I feel like Im going through a warzone everytime I go through there but anywayz, I make through just minding my business. All I see next is this red truck jumping and pacing me, WTF where'd he come from, and for the next mile or so. That's it, fine you wanna run lets do it. Motors revs, blow-off sounding and whats this I hear the distinct sign of a SUPERCHARGER, sweet!! Glancing over I see its a ford fawkn' lightning. Always wanted to run one so Im game, chips all in, BRING IT!! VROOOOOM, and he shoots a half car and pulling, WTF Hell no. All 10 lbs. boost kicking in and see ya....ummm, hes still next to me??? Top of fourth now and he's back where he belongs. Whoa...respect...but the 7 cant lose. We stop at the light and he looks at with a smile and I nod in aknowledgement. Just blew me away how fast these trucks can be...anywayz Ill be ready for the next one. Laters.

They can get pretty quick but the advantage is the weakness. A "truckload" of torque on street tires. Search up lightning & carrera gt on streetfire. some of the mullets actually think that the carrera lost. Worth a chuckle.

Fix your clutch, walk the truck.

Not bad with a slipping clutch. You do realize that you will be flamed for this without vid, right? Just a prewarning.

Also, I ran a Lightning when I still had my 280ZX in Texas on the highway, and I must say, I was impressed that I only lost by 3 or 5 lengths by the top of my 4th gear. I figured I'd get utterly destroyed.

Lightnings run 13s stock...

so ya, that's pretty impressive for a truck, I'd say. Any car that runs 13s stock is pretty impressive(except for SRT-4s)

ya, you know a lot of people run 15s in modified FDs too. A lot of it has to do with driver.

also, define "fairly modified".

There is that one video of the Lightning running with a Carrera GT. I'd have called BS, but the Carrera GT was screaming and the Lightning was right beside him. I was astonished.

In order to match a stock Carrera GT a stock weight lightning would need ~1000hp.

What kind of street tires do you put on a 10second lightning?

Did you watch the video? I was confused too, but that CGT wasn't going anywhere without the Lightning being right next to it.

Of course, once they got up to higher speeds the CGT would have pulled away no doubt, but it's still pretty crazy.

Lightnings aren't designed to be a top speed vehicle. Trying to take one from a dig is dangerous though, I personally guarantee it. My guess is he was stock.
