Evo gets sleeperized

Well I get woken up by my bro saying " hey hey races wanna go" i said not really but w/e. So we head out, not 2 mins Im there and this guy comes up, "that your car" Im like yea, he's like " want to run it vs an Evo" I said sure np.
Now pics of my car the sleeper

Racing Beat Dual Tip keeps things REAL quite.
My mods are full exhaust, Petit Unlimited, 12 psi, and Blitz Intake. Ported too

1st gear roll about 4000 Rpm (yea thats right our power band).
1st gear, 1/4 of a car, 2nd gear massive wheel hop, a car, 3rd gear (oh no here it comes) 2 maybe 3 cars, 4rth gear I lost count topped it out at 140.
Came back saying that its impossible that I only got exhuast, chip, and intake.
I said i'll pop the hood. He didnt care to hear it and left.
Car runs really good/hard when its cool (2 mins after it reachs op temp).

EDIT: Here's the punchline, he says by listening to my exhaust that I have a cam...... I'll let you make something of that.

Any ideas on wheel hop?

Yeah, when's the last time you looked at your rear suspension bushings?

BTW, your car looks like it needs an alignment pretty bad -- in your first picture, it appears that your front passenger side wheel has positive camber....

Evos aint ****?
A lot of them run 400+whp on stock blocks, and a bunch of them are 500+whp on fully built blocks with big turbos. Some are 700-800whp. I hope you do not get to race one of them, cuz then we will be reading the kills section on the evo forum...

On the kill: stock evos are kinda slow, 220-230whp... What power are you making? Also, what weight-to-power ratio is on your side:-)

Evo's aren't that fast. I'm suprised he wanted to run you from a roll most of the time awd people are all about going from a stop.

Hah, an FD is hardly a sleeper, even when it looks stock. Sleepers are like old beat up POS cars that you dont even expect to race because they look like garbage, but then tear you a new *******, lol

Well this one defintely wasnt stock, thats one of the reasons I raced him he kept saying he was so that he would win against slower cars. My mods I listed under the pic. BTW I saw a 510 HP Evo race a 470hp supra and the supra one cause of the turbo lag. If I had 400hp I would race most big turbo evo's out of the hole, since lag = loss.

Lol I guess since he saw the dual tips, and no wing he must have thought it was going to be easy. His face was priceless when I shifted to 2nd and got that wheel hop.

In my eyes the king of sleepers is the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. My buddy had a 92 model I believe with a built motor and larger turbo, car was making about 390awhp. The look on people’s face after they lost to this car was priceless.

LMAO so true. I thought this was an Evo vs. primered TII

you can't call a sports car a sleeper, especially one that has similar lines to the C5 corvette and the viper.

I hate to be the one to point out the fact that stock vs stock the evo would beat us. Hell with a good driver a stock Evo would beat most of the mildly modified FDs i've seen at the track. Of course, just like us the Evos at the track are not running the numbers the mags get out of them. This however is not the same and as such, GOOD KILL!!!! that cam, err i mean porting is doing its job well! lol

LOL yeah my brother has one thats all rusted out and dented on the body panels but he has a BUILT engine and run dual to4s but his is a track car so the slicks kinda give it away even if the open exhaust doesnt :p

got any links to sites showing 700-800 whp evos? cuz ive been goignt o some evo forums (thinkin about an evo or sti) and the kings of those forums are usually around 500whp i think the highest ive actually seen on an evo was a custom built on built by a race shop as its track car....and it was at like 650 and not streetable.

get trailing arms and replace the bushings, your wheel hop should decrease.
