I rarely speed, but its a bad growing habit heh, this is the first kill in my FD
my friend has a 97 white 3000gt and we were going down hw485 cruisin maybe 80 or so and he wanted to race, although I know he just wanted to see me go because he knows dam well his car is MUCH slower. Anyways before anything, in the opposite lane a new body style mustang, completly unmarked cop goes flying by chasing after a car, dam the red and blue lights looked like the GT fog lamps on the grill, couldnt tell it was a cop at all. After seeing that I really didnt want to race, but i figured Id get **** for not. We went a couple of times and I beat him, by alot, but the road really opened and I wanted to really smoke him, so hes on the phone with me and says when i brake go, and i didnt understand him and said what? he didnt answer so I looked at my phone to see if he hung up, he did and when i looked up he was already about a car length ahead of me! I was like what the hell!? I was waiting for him to slow down but he didnt and I think he thought he was beating me, and i couldnt let that happen. So i put the phone down and shift into 3rd, hes WAY ahead of me. Pedal to the floor, I gained on him fast. I passed him he was going 115mph, after I passed him I glanced at the speedo which was at 145mph!! I didnt even realize how fast I really was going until a minivan was in my lane and it took me what seemed like an eternity to slow down to 80. The car felt like it had plenty of pull left to go and was so stable that I thought I was doing 100 @ 145 windows down and sunroof open. I wish I could have seen the view from his car when I passed him going 115 like he was standing still. Fun but I dont think Ill ever do it again.

 

nice, always great to see a misubishi get slaughtered. everybody that has one thinks there the shizz from the eclipse to the evo and especially 3000. nice to see one suckin on rotor waste.

Um. I drive a mitzu, and i dont think I'm the ****. Maybe you shouldn't generalize a group of people, based on what car they have. Unless you didn't read the post, he said it was his friend, so OBVIOUSLY they were just having fun.

nah the front wheel drive ones are ****, no twin turbos, on them.. the awd vr4 would **** on that fwd one form a roll, I used to own one the vr4's make good power, really good

 

i own a vr4, im saying a TT converted fwd 3kgt is better than a vr4 from a roll. They weigh about 3000 pounds, a friend of mines fwd one weighs 27xx , un-gutted, tt conversion.

Im siked, your flaughtered about kiling a non turbo 3000GT. Obviously you werent racing the VR-4, Why would you brag about beating a 160-220hp base model? go race a healty vr4 and then post the results, maybe then youll be the one "standing still"

 

Dude, I've seen that Mustang. I live in Fairview and was datin this girl in Concord so I was all the time on 485 goin to see her. You're right, you can't tell its a cop car at all. One time I was cruisin at about 95 and passed him with some honda pulled over on the other side of 485. I couldn't believe it. Then a couple of weeks later I saw it at a gas station in Monroe. I couldn't tell if it was State Troopers or the local cops. But anyways good story. Keep it real and watch out for those cops man.

 

!!!! VR4's are AWD!!! They ar okay IMO, but really really heavy.

people dont understand vr4s. i dont plan on trying to change opinons, but when i get my 15g turbos ,front mount, ext... ill be kissing low 11s. Not even to talk about when i cut 350 pounds off it. Im just going to SHOW what can be done.

Hey man I'm in the same boat, except my weapon of choice is the 13Ts, I'm rebuilding the engine and putting them in as we speak.

I'll stay silent, too, but keep your eye out for some track results here within the month.
