Red face Doh!

First and foremost, I am not endorsing, or promoting high speed driving on the streets, or freeways. But here is my brief story.

I was on the 110 Express Way this morning heading south minding my own business and an AMG was merging on doing 100 plus easy. I was already doing above that myself so I guess the driver figured I was trying to race him. I figured what the hell and pushed it some more and the AMG driver pulled along side of me and jetted like we were at a standing start ha ha. Damn AMG's are fast as hell!!!

Cruising at 100+. Wish I could get away with that. There's a cop waiting over every hill here.

I know when and where to drive at high speeds on this particular express way. When I get to a certain point I slow it down and cruise at the speed limit. Then I watch the others speed and get pulled over ha ha.

Ha ha! I know right?? To be honest I thought I had a slight chance to keep up with it. But once he pulled I knew it was game over. It was an S600 AMG; V12 twin turbo 600 hp, 700 plus torque is what the driver did ha ha!!

I am planning out maybe a rebuild with a large race port, or half bridge, turbo manifold, etc. If I am patient enough, I would like to swap in a 20B .

The S65 is twin turbo V12. The S600 is a twin turbo V8. The S65 is the AMG, the S600 is not (and is short ~ 110 hp & 120 ft lbs short of the S65). The S65 runs a 12.6 quarter, a 13.1 for the S600. Either way, your vert was toasted - no big deal - nothing wrong with playin' around if no traffic is around & your speeds don't get crazy. Now you at least know how quick the slowest AMG is ;o)

Ah, thanks for the break down, but like you stated none the less, I now know how fast the slowest AMG is ha ha.

Traffic was light. And believe it, or not the driver of the AMG really couldn't handle his car. But then again the 110 Expressway is twisty old highway meant for speeds of 55mph MAX. So with his weight and horse power, his Benz was too much for the express way at the speeds we were "driving".
