firsty of BAY AREA! and yeah, one thing i notice about this forum tho, even tho i plan on getting a 7 myself, is that no one EVER doubts the rx7 even when it seems like a ludcirsly rediculus win, other sites people are always planting bs flags and what not, the only time anyone says anything doubting it is when the 7 loses... wtf... anyways good kill. and this is all just IMHO.

 

6 posts...yup, haven't been around long. And apparently haven't spent much time around the forum just reading either. I've seen quite a few BS flags in this area, against other 7 owners. And this is about the only place I've seen people with the same interests hate each other for no reason, so there is no reason there SHOULDN'T be BS flags going up every so often.

Now as for the kill...sounds pretty reasonable to me. I have a stock FD and while it's the fastest car I've had, I know it's not unbeatable. At least this guy was cool about it, unlike a couple recent guys with Camaros and TAs just coming around to talk **** about a kill they read one SOMEONE ELSE'S forum. This makes me want to run a VR4 now, before and after modding. Good kill, maybe I'll be outwest someday and see you.

 

Well, being as I bought the car pretty recently, I was stoked at how the car can take off with a proper launch. I've launched my car a handful of times, and it catches me off guard every time. I have experience with a GSX, but the torque on the VR is incredible. As for the kill, I honestly didn't think it would cause people to think BS. I mean, stock for stock they are both around a mid 13 right? With my mods, people have pulled 12.8's. Im a huge fan of the RX-7, I just couldn't find one for the right price. In any case, I didn't mean to come off as a "showoff", I was just sharing my kill because I've never ran into an FD in any of my former cars (Z28, GSX, and 5.0)......

 

like i said, people around here are defensive about their cars. if you were to try pulling him on a roll i don't think the turnout would be the same however.

 

Im surprised this guy hasn't gotten superflamed yet by the Fd guys. They pull out the Bs flag on any 3rd gen killing & start screaming "The 7 can't lose." But anyways, I believe you. On take-off you definately should of had him/her because your AWD, but if the race would've continued for 1/8 more you would of lost. Good kill & enjoy your victory.

 

yep....I've smoked plenty of VR4s with full exhaust, pettit ECU, and IC...that's it (about 300 hp)....it wasn't even close, they are big heavy pigs

 

Yes, we're heavy, I think its been established plenty of times over (3700lbs or so), yet are able to do mid to high 12's with BPU work - I think thats respectable and enough to beat a lightly modded FD from a stop. If you've "SMOKED" a 3kgt, it was probably an SL. A VR4 would give you a run for the money, and I can tell you that from experience If we were on the fwy, no doubt the 7 *should* pull ever so slightly, but on a street from a stop and a 5500 launch with absolutely no wheelspin, you wont just fly by me after first gear and you certainly wouldn't "smoke" me with just an exhaust and ecu work. Remember, 315lb/torque at 2500rpm and from a dead stop. C'mon, some of you guys make it out like its completely NO contest. 300hp give or take 5hp has been put to the wheels with BPU work.....Im going to make sure I record future races.

yeah nice kill ran a guy running 16 pounds full ehaust(shot four flame out of the quad tipped exhaust and all that with a blown water seal still beat him by like 5 or 6 cars wasnt worth it but he had the nerve to tell people he beat me so i went and raced him again beat him even worse and he still told a mutual friend he beat me man what a tool!!

yep. It's mostly a catch up game for most cars against vr4s, put slap on a pair of 13t's and it's all good and gravy from a roll, and even more incredible from a stop. But it doesnt stop there for you , a pair of DR (Dynamic Racing) turbos and you are a highway monster yourself..and those range from DR500, DR600..all way to DR1000( producing 520 hp each snail)

I got the chance to ride in a vr4 with the DR500 setup , running out 3rd gear (120?) I was curled up in the passenger seat lol

 

Don't worry about people on here. FD's aren't the fastest things on the planet. But they are faster than VR4's Those damn pigs have trouble moving!

 

For Christ sake....I don't think many people doubt the kill. it's moreso the fatc you clearly had to sign up here to inform us of the "wonder" of seeing an FD, and then how you smoked it from a dig.

NO ****!! Give us all wheel drive and we would smoke a VR4 and many other cars too. You rolled up on a mostly stock FD, started from a dig, and you won moderately. Big deal, is it that much of a ******* fantasy? I use to have a 2000 supercharged Grand Am GT...if I rolled up next to a MazdaSpeed Protege and beat it should I have gone to any board they are associated with and act so modestly cool?

** Oh, and about the "moderate" win. Two cars till about 105 (approx quart mile) is an *** kicking. Have you been to a track? That is why I was excited to beat it, but I will admit it comes down to driver stock for stock. I wont go into the mod for mod...

How about you come over....I beat you from a dig with my '04 GTO...then I go to the 3si or whatever the hell board it is and say "A chance run in with a VR4"..then I explain this really lame story how you came out of nowhere, I was in awe of how cool this was at night and finally coming across a VR4, we raced and I fought to the death to pull it out by a car or car and a half, and...and...

FD's don't need AWD to beat VR4's.

 

VR4's however do need to be 2800 lbs. to beat an FD. What hilarious is seeing a 370 hp. VR4 vs. a 290 hp. RX-7 from a roll. Why do you need that much hp to lose!

But seriously guys don't get all pissed at this dude because he came on this board and said he kicked an FD's ***. He picked on a stock FD. If the FD guy wanted to race and lost that is his fault. Maybe he sucked ***** at driving. Big deal, let him pick on one his own size and see what happens.

I could go on a VR4 forum right now and talk about how I pulled 30 cars on a stock VR4, and that it was fun to race one for a chance. But I choose not to start ****
