I likely won't care, because at the end of the day my car still won't have a Mazda emblem on the back of it.

Why do you own a second gen if you hate Mazda so much?

The FD did better... Light weigh, good weight distribution, etc. The FD is still the king of the Touge remember? It destroyed the MCR R34.

The GTR is an amazing machine, but its legendary status is due partly to the fact that it was never sold in the US.

Totally agreed. I've driven all the gtr's from the r32 minus the new r35 and unless their fully modded with thousands and thousands of dollars they aren't much to enjoy. Those suckers are heavy, and just big all around. I like them, but not crazy about them, give me my FD any day. Fun from the start, (when they work right). lol

lol, I think you hate Mazda because yours is a turd. Typical attitude from a German-car owner. You must like the status symbol your car gives you, very American.

The other problem I have with GTRs is that their ATTESSA system does all the driving for you. I have seen many people who are quck around the track in a gtr jump into something lse and completely fail. Other cars, (RX7, MR2, ae86, any porsche etc., give a pure driving experience.

^^So how is that the STOCK GTR can pull AMAZING TIMES?

I highly doubt people disable any computer controlled devices to go around the track, otherwise the car is useless for what it is.

The GTR is as close to the perfect car for the dollar, period.

I probably did, probably didnt.

But theres a clear difference if i did.

Me saying not worth the money = my opinion

Me saying its the perfect car for the dollar = an obvious fact, regardless if i disagree or agree.

Please dont confuse opinions with actual facts, thats a common thing on this forum. I guess some day you guys will learn.

I have to agree with this statement. I think the car does most of the driving.... aka the car can make anyone look like a hero. I don't think there would be much of a time difference from a novice getting into the car to a seasoned veteran. Let me explain... I was home on leave in October and attended the Speed for Sale Supercar Shootout and GTR Nationals at TGPR. The previous year an RX-7 with R Compounds set the fastest time of the day with a 1:07 lap(Supra's, 300zx's, 350z's, C5 Z06's, RX-7's, etc) with a dry track. This year it rained all day. There were 4 new GTR's at the event and a good mix of the above mentioned cars. The faster non GTR guys that are experienced track drivers were cutting 1:16-1:20 lap times. A guy in a GTR who has never been on the track ever went out there and cut a 1:10 in the rain(only 3 seconds slower than last years winner in the dry with R Compounds).

A couple of pictures of some GT-R's:

A picture of mine(Silver T78) and Kevin's(Black 500r) RX-7's making our way around the track:

I think that its kindah funny that our arguments for the reason that we dislike the GTR is because we think its designed and executed in a way thats almost to good? just a thought, cars will always advance, and the gtr takes some big steps. The GTR is not my style (to big to heavy) but, its incredible in a novices hands and in a experienced/professional drivers hands it is down right amazing what it is capable of, yes it is a ton of weight/bells and whistles and goes against the general design philosophy of the rx-7, so its bound to rub us the wrong way in a sense. I just hope mazda responds in a suitable kick-*** manner as the last FD did to the last GTR! as in hand it its ***! (which is mostly opinion but hey were on a rx7 forum thats bound to be the prevailing opinion)

Besides, the NSX always did better than the 32, 33, and 34 anyway.

First off, I never said I hate anything. FC's are outdated, rickety pieces of **** at this point in time. Sorry, you can't argue that. The technology is old as hell, the available parts are old as hell, and putting one up against damn near any new car is laughable. ****, a ******' Camry would smoke an FC. Are they fun? Sure they are, but in the sense that a $2500 car is fun because you really don't care if you slide it into a guard rail or not.

And yeah, I love the status symbol that my car is

I agree with what you are saying. There is something about having a newer more polished car that I really like. I don't know if I would get another older car again unless I was just trying to turn it into a race car. There are still a few nice examples of FCs though that I wouldn't mind having.

However, at least my N/A FC should be able to walk past a Camry.

If you actually managed to find a TII that had 100% original everything you could probably beat it on foot as it would barely run, if at all. You really don't seem to get the point. Makes me wonder why you even still post here, as you don't seem to have any technical knowledge in any area of the car whatsoever. Maybe its the venting lounge threads? Like the racist conversations your poor, delicate ears encounter?

Now at least I will have the satisfaction of imagining someone like you behind the wheel of a European car as it disappears from my rear view from a red light, and again when the road curves.
