Beat a VR6 swapped MKII VW GTI with my FB

My friend and I finally got to see who's car was faster, and for the first time ever I wound up beating some one in a race with my FB. His car was an VW MKII GTI with a 12 valve vr6 swap. We were rolling at 30mph, he drops a gear and hits it, I just stayed in fourth and floored it. It was over fast as it began, we started side by side and I immediately started gaining car lengths on him. I had just got my car running a few days ago after spending the last several months doing v8 swap, it was a very good feeling.

The stock mazda 3.909 rear end and the fact the engine's sweet spot begins at 1800 rpms makes it all possible.

Hears a gear calculator http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Hears a sheet with my transmissions gear ratios (my trans is a stock 95) http://www.moderndriveline.com/Techn...ssion_spec.htm

The stock rear end gearing is 3.909

My tire size is 195/60 r14

max revs is 5500 rpm

I invite you to do the math for your self

They are very short, I always start in second gear because the only thing first gear is good for is impressing your friends. Freeway cruising isn't too bad, however I tend to favor the right lane.

Did the VR6 flip over after it was done?

This stereotype is almost as old as the floating bugs hehe
