Auto FB vs Integra....
This was retarted. I have a '85 GSL RX-7 and I was pulling out of the BP station onto 29N near Browns Summit today and I got on the on ramp, but this isn't a normal on ramp, it parallels with the highway like it was a far right hand lane. So I am accelerating like crazy to get up to speed and when I am at 60Mp/h in 2nd gear an Integra rolls up to me says a few words and punches it. Well I thought hell I have a stock engine no mods no nothing, original exhaust = clogged cats and muffler comming apart under me, I have an Automatic Transmission that was overhauled with heavier Duty valves, gears, 8 clutches, bands and the B&M stage 2 shift kit courtesy of "United Transmissions" well I said hell I see what this 'ol girl has. I put the pedal to floor the tranny hits 7,200 RPM's and shifts to 3rd with in .25 seconds and puts me back in my seat. I finaly catch up to him doing 100 Mp/h about 1 mile from the Browns Summit US 150 exit. I was in 3rd gear nearing 5,500 RPM's and he wants to go faster so I pull on, traffic is clear for miles no on ramps until reidsville 10 miles away. So he goes faster. I put on some more gas it hit 7,200 RPM's damn buzzer just screaming at me. So I let off and let it go into Overdrive. I start picking up more speed. we near 120 MP/h and finaly I start to pull on ahead. I think he maxed out. I hit 125 backed off the accelerator nearing 6,900 rpm's and slow to 60mp/h. we turn off at the reidsville exit and we pull into a gas station. He says man what do you have under the hood. I poped the hood. Stock everything. I said but the Tranny has been rebuilt with heavier duty parts than stock and upgraded with a B&M stage 2 shift kit. He has a stock engine with the usual mods, header C.O.I, muffler and a dopy wing with a skirt kit, it was the Integra with the round headlights. he said he had it to the floor but it just wouldn't go any where. He says he beats my kind of RX-7 all over the place, but he was surprised when he faced mine and not only that an Auto ! I said well it isn't all that stock. The tranny is what kept me up there. The Transmission shop replaced everything in it becouse it was burned up bad from when the previous owner ran it out of Tranny Fluid and burned the whole thing up. I wanted an auto that everyone hates in an RX-7 that can't to **** for no one .
But I gained his respect and we departed out of there. but the only way I could grip the road was with my new Eibach suspension with Munro sensatrack shocks and Falken 205, 60R13 87H tires on stock rims. which lowered me 1 inch from stock suspension.
No BS either, this old girl will fly. If you want a demo meet up with me and we will go for a ride!
Only bad thing about her. It takes forever to get up to 115mph + in overdrive.

I think mine puts out what 101 hp at 6,500 rpm's and around 107 lb of torque at 4,500 rpm's.
I think that is right. Correct me if I am wrong.
not sure about rwhp though I think that is off the flywheel. The auto has to take its share of the power but not as much as the stock ones. so I estimate maybe 89 --> 94 RWHP I suspect. I know it is less than a manual.

ok 101HP off the Engine I think, then the auto tranny takes some HP to drive the pumps clutchs and so on, then the rear end robs abit. So I suspect by the time the HP flows to the rear end drive wheels the rear wheel horsepower is I think 89 ->94 HP but I could be wrong.

A general rule of thumb for automatic transmissions (I drive one with my daily driver and modify it as well).
1) Shifts are consistent vs a clutch and stick.
2) 20% Drive Train Loss for Autos
3) You can shift faster than any human can with a built tranny.
