No it's not, it's peejay. noisycricket is my non-Mazda-car-forum name. (mainly DirtyImpreza and Motorgeek - my other car has five cylinders with four rings on the valvecover)

Kevin, OVR runs fast flowing courses with hairpins, because hairpins are fun and so is fast

(sorry not an FC, well it's about 20% FC at this point - call it an FB# )

Our dirt is really hard, so we don't have much of a rutting problem, but at the same time hyper-aggressive tires don't work as well. Snow tires and street tires squeal. It helps that we tend to have car counts in the 20-25 range and 30 is a huge turnout for a regional.

BTW - That day? 95 degrees. My car stayed under 190f, although my Megasquirt overheated from running close to max pulsewidth for long periods of time, in a black car, on a 95 degree day with no shade, with the defroster on full blast for extra engine cooling... Could be worse, though, Z.B.'s Golf was finishing runs with the coolant in the 240f range But he won M2 by something like 40 or 50 seconds over 700 seconds of scored runs. (OVR drops the worst run per course, and combines MF and MR to prevent having sub-3-competitor classes - MF is basically Z.B. and sometimes some Honda or Toyota guys, MR is me and someone with a turbo Miata)

Depowered S4 rack. Still not fast enough IMO, am looking into quickeners.

Alex is a friend of mine. I WANT to drive his car when he's done with it. JVAB suspension, FC frontend, steering quickener, and a turbo Miata engine. Because, that's why.

When I think of what I want in an FC, I think of a good track machine, no doubt, but what I NEED? I need it to perform like this.. Good thread here.

mmmmmRevs, you have summoned me with your post. Good luck! I'm about to begin the hunt for my very own FC in January. I look forward to putting it in the dirt as much as I do the track. I'd love to see updates from everyone in the thread. OP, did you ever get into any events?

While my RX7 affliction began with an logbooked SA (that now has a 13B Turbo II engine and RX8 six speed installed) the fleet now stands at four RX7 rallye cars (the SA, two FBs including an ex-Rod Millen car, and an FC that won the CRNC Group 5 title at 100 Acre Wood 2005. I haven't rallied the FC yet and may not for a while since I have the SA, the Millen FB and an 84 GSL-SE that I flipped at 100 Acre Wood earlier this year available to run.

The GSL-SE, by the way, is intended to be a rental in case someone wants to tick the same bucket list item I had when I bought the SA.
