The remarkable part was that it happened in the MIDDLE of the front stretch, and the Viper "exited stage left" into the expansive field to the left of the track. He slid for what looked like two time zones and never hit anything... you know you must have done something pretty spectacular in a previous life to pull that one off!
Damnest thing I've ever seen!
Though I will refrain from expresing my opinion on what exactly happen, suffice it to say that Vipers have a VERY nasty bite if not handled with inordinate caution!

Why would he lift while passing a car? More than likely either one of two things happened. Either he hit the dirt and whipped the wheel back on the track...or more likely....
he tried to get back left too fast after the pass and gave it too much throttle.

This reminds me of those annoying chain-emails that tell you to look for the ghost in the picture. http://www.unmelted.com/puzzle/whatswrong.swf

wait, i dont understand somthing here, the video shows the out of control car going straight, in other words, the nose first then the tail followed, almost a straight line across the nose of the camera car, its not like his rear passed over first like the rear came arounds on him, ...i dont get it? did the rear come loose further back, then he over correctd and shot straight across the track in front of the camera car?

The look more like a C6 now than what the old Vipers looked like.
