Using rx8 housings in a 13brew? (Import tuner article)

Hey guys in the June 2010 issue of import tuner claims Auto Craft is building 13brew with Rx8 rotor housings. Does anyone have more info on this? What exhuast sleeve did they use?

From article,

"From there, Auto Craft injected its own influence, and equipped the ride with a host of parts until then only seen on its own time-attack FD: a big-bore triple throttle, massaged intake manifold, RX-8 side-port rotor housings, and trick low-compression rotors with 3mm seals. "

They are probably using the side housings from the renesis and using both periphial and side ports for exhaust. I have been considering building a set up like this for fun. It would be a waste of time and money to attempt to use the rotor housings.

I wouldn't expect any tech information to be correct in any magazine, let alone an "import tuner" magazine.

Most of the articles are just rehashed press releases, no fact checking. Due to the way a lot of magazines are run, the editors wouldn't know the difference anyway.

They refer to it as rotor housing in multiple spots, plus the REW intake would not fit on the RX8 side housings. I think they are smoking crack at import tuner, or
Auto craft has a exhuast sleeve that fits. I think the mazda race housing (used the 20B powered rx8 race cars) use a sleeve that looks alot like the features left in the rx8 housings.

I did see a photos in a Japanese magazine once of a "sequential port" motor that had been built with normal side and center plates and P-port rotor housings and a fancy intake rigged up to use them both.
