Took my FD to Willow spring Street this monday.and Did pretty good result

1:25.8.!! with passanger( I usually dont really take it hard when I carry passanger).

This should be fastest FD ever run in Street of willow.

Did not find a best gear and line for this track yet. I basically use the gear selection and line from my Lotus 7. That car I did 1:25.1....

Incase you guys are wondering. Sport compact car recenly have two car run head to head in Street of willow. check out that issue for detail. I think my lap time can come even closer if I can dial the chssic right. I might need stiffer spring at back

click the pic to watch the Video

I was filming my friend's E36M3 at first 2 laps. he run about 1:28.xx
My best lap when I Chase A Nissan S15 sec . My FD should be pretty easy to get it down to 1:24.xx if they are not traffic infront

Nice run. Looked like you had a decent amount of oversteer on corner exits though!

Some Quick Machine Spec
1993 MAZDA RX-7 Best lap time 1:25.8
Full inter
HP:350WHP 10psi
Suspension: Apexi N1 coilover. Custom made off set pillow ball bushing. 3 peace sway bar Front.
Brake:Porsche Big Red Brake at front.R4 PADs. HAWK blue at rear
DriveTrain:KAZZ LSD.4.3 final drive
Aerodyamnic:Real RE Amemiya AD-GT fenders and side steap. with front and rear diffuser. GT2 Spoiler

Wheels/Tire:BBS RGR 18x9.5 with 275/35/18 Nitto NT01

I build this car Fronm Ground up by my self. This is my first time Tracking my FD at this track and I did not track her for almost 3 yearrs. so take it semi hard only. but still get pretty good result I want it
J
For a reference Mine's 600HPover GTR did a 1:21.x Drive by Tsuchiya Keichi san(Drift king). so I should be happy about my home build machine !!

I think if I do take my RX-7 out again. I will change Rear spring rate from 16KG to 18 KG. to help me rotate the car at corner exit.

If you guys watch it closely. Is pretty hard for me to rotate the car at slow speed. this will incl the Turn 2. and Ski pad
almost lift the Inside wheel. at Corner exit

Some of other I took

YEs they are running with R.comps also.

As the spring rate. before I upgrade all bushing to pillow ball. It does feel too bumpy due to the blinding on the stock rubber bushing. but with this pillow ball bushing set up. it feel pretty comfortable compare to before. but a bit noisy....

The Valving on the Apexi N1 is good. but it is not perfect yet. I am Strugle to want to change any set up on my FD.... cause I dont really want to track this car.. TOO $$$$ money to keep runing unless I get a sponser . and I already get tons of good pic this is one of reason I bring her out. cause I am short on the Auction shoot!!!!

PS for any one want to Track their FD install A baffle plate in their oil pan or Accsump. cause on my Stack 8130 I can see the Oil psi warming light went on in bling a sec ( or less) in some of tide corner !!!!!!!

MM Like i said this is my Street car, so I did not order any thing special. this shoul be stock KAZZ set up
I also driving my friend daily drive FD(falken 615) for few laps , help him find the line and braking point..... I did a 1:31.xx ? consider this is faster then most of Stock EVO and STI I am pretty happy with result (will post data log system)

his car have stock Torsen... dam that is pretty scary when you are on the limit. the momtemnt the insider looose traction . the car feel like slide on the ice. This momtemnet hardly notice able on Clutch type or Mazda Speed Torsen.....
and the Apexi Street suspension......... is barely enought for Track drving

I was wondering cause I've read the Kazz comes stock with a very high % lock, which could also be the problem to your understeer?

MM it might. but when you see the pic when I next to GTR... you see my front is much higher then rear . that might explain one thing. in tide corner I might lift my front wheel, and as logic think. 3 wheels wont corner faster then 4. so if I do put stiff spring at back.. it might help me rotate.. or I should lower my front ride hight however my car is a street car. or revalving the shocks. but over all I think spring should be the one is easiest

I think its easier to stiffen with a bigger rear sway bar?

How are those front canards? Do they actually give any noticeable downforce?

sweet ride.
what system do you use to record the data acquisition and feed into the cameras?
where did you get the caliper brackets to bolt up the porsche calipers?

i had KAAZ on stock setting 100% lockup. on corner exit, it would understeer greatly because both wheels are turning at same time with same force.
Take it out and adjust to 33% and it'll fix that.

Already have R/B sway bar at rear. I dont really like feeeling of big Sway bar..... as front Canard. Once over 70 mile per hour. you will feel the car get suck down font and rear. but below that... that really notice able.

Very nice! Re. the oil level issue, how far are you filling it up?
I consume 1/2 Q-almsot 1Q per session. 20 min per session. I am consider install aftermarket oil pan. could be easier.

I use Vbox Mini. you can check out on their web site www.Vboxusa.com it can measure Drag racing or Solo2 too , the performance box is best bang for the money I design the brake calipers bracket by my self.
