Does anyone have a recommendation on a good cheap quick release hub that will fit on an FC with minimal hassle. I would refer a collar-type release over a pin release.

That's what I would recommend. You'll spend lots more for an FC specific part.

 

I'm using an NRG Innovations one - works very well with a collar release and ball-bearings.
