CA SCCA - San Francisco ITE season opener vid

Here's a link to my 1st race of the weekend at Thunderhil.

http://www.vimeo.com/10971748

Crappy quality and a bit long butyou'll get the idea.

It was the first weekend out with the single turbo and I have some BOV and boost control issues to solve, but the car is great. Best lap was a 1:55.1. , no bypass.

Guy, "Fingerlock" was out with his car. He DOMINATED the 2nd race in the rain.

Enjoy
Niles

Very cool! Watching the rain clip from my desk is stressful. My E-Prod FB doesn't have side windows or windshield wipers... Thunderhill was hell.

Congrats on a great weekend.

Gorgeous!!!!!!! Hopefully you can work on that camera mount for the next race though, I could only hang in there with you for 2 laps before I had to stop watching your vid is making me crazy, I need to get back out there.

No bypass....full course....over the top.

The SM cars run ITX or can run ITE.(open class). Guys 2:33 was in typhoon conditions. Lots of standing water. I looped off track on the first lap and decided to "just finish" which I did.

I know...the camera is a drag....I'm working on it.

Thanks for sharing Guy.........

I don't recall seeing where you mentioned your checkered flag finish! :-)

Glad I had my brake ducts taped shut.

OK,

Fair enough, this is what it looked like just before I received news of my three-place penalty for passing under the double yellow flag. I'd like to think of this as a test run.

Thanks Gents......

Bill, I'm hoping to make Laguna in June but that is tentative at this point. If I had been able to take advantage of the room that Connie left me at the start we would have had a better race!. Your car looks great and should get much quicker.

Gracer, perhaps we'll see you at the next event?

Bill, how did the car perform? Was this your first event since you completed the build?

Niles:

Great demonstration of how you need to be patient and aggressive at the same time. Can't tell for sure if that blue thing is a Vette or a Viper, but you worked his rear end over pretty well before you stuck the landing.

Hey J.D.,

As Niles is out of town for awhile and away from email, I can answer this for you. The blue car is an 07 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe driven by Connie Bogan out of Reno, NV. She normally runs the car in both Group 1 (either ITE or STO) and Group 3 in GT1.

Niles is planning on running the SCCA races at Laguna Seca the second week of June. He is pretty much fearless there. If he can keep his car on the pavement he could have a good shot at a win. Should make for some good video!

The things we do for internet.. and cold beer..........it's midnight, in Guam. Im sitting in a sh't hole bar sweating, where the natives are singing philipino karioki (sp) songs.....It's really bad.

Anyway, JD your comments about patience are well received. It took me at least a season to get some. That being said, I still can't believe I didn't get inside her at the start when the barn door was open. But we got her and that's what counts. Just to bad it took so long and kept me from pushing Bill.

Guy was at Laguna this weekend. I'm sure more video to come.

I got to get outta here.
