My competition in SM2 lost to me and a light pole.
He was coming around the first cone in a slalom and the rearend came around. He slid probably 60 yards sideways and almost missed the light pole but caught it with the LF wheel. I really wanted to race him to guage myself in SM2 (moved up from ASP). Watch out for cemented poles guys...they always win.
also threw in a cool pic of me accelerating to the lights

Yeah, my car is pretty boring for SM2. Just intake, stock mount IC,DP,exhaust, boost computer(EFI PMS which I just leave at 10psi), and some sticky Hoosiers. I am still on the stock R1 suspension. I don't plan on going to wild with the car, I have an FP FC for that. Just felt like playing in SM2.
Oh and the vette that is definately not an SS car.

SCCA Event? Who was the organization? Slide 60 yards!?
Sorry, I caught that the next day I meant 60' or 20 yards. The mandate is 25' off course I believe. Not the course designers fault at all. The slalom was turning away from the pole. I will try to find pics of the tire marks. I would venture to closer to 30 yards. Luckily he had scrubbed off most of his speed before the hit.

Whats that old video game... Pole Position... I had a friend hit a pole dead center front of his acura. The next SCCA event he organised was name after the game. Even got the cars picture on the cover of the regions newsletter. He still hasn't lived it down after 10 yrs.
Oh, and that was at an SCCA event when he hit the pole. How about this one, back in about 1986-7 a guy drove into the side of an airplane hanger at an event at Toledo Express Airport! Airport people wondered why there were no skid marks (he thought he could make it). It was over 10 years before they allowed the SCCA back.

Too bad about your competition, hopefully it isn't too serious. Z06's do belong in SM2, just wish they weren't in it hehe. RX-7's still kicking soem butt though.

Thats Allen Densmores RX7.. its F$%#ing Mean to say the least. I co-drove that car in the 2004 nationals in Phoenix.
Don't worry about the Vette. He fixed it and was at the CenDiv at Grissom AFB. He put a second on me the first day and three seconds on day two. Z06s are too fast. With my times I would have only been 7th in SS.
