I had a rear wheel bearing go bad and drove on it until a brake pad fell out. I have a new upright/axle I just need to install, and gotta order some new front rotor rings from Coleman. I'll git'r done in time to make the event.

I am 50/50 about this - I've driven Grand-East before (a couple years ago w/ Mazda Drivers) and it is a llllllloooooonnnnggggg course, as in not many laps long. By the time I was starting to work something out, it was time to come off the course.
If the sessions were like (3x)40 minutes rather then (4x)25 minutes, I think it would be a better format.
Despite that, it is a really fun ride. You get about every different combination of turn you could ever hope for. I'm certainly going to give my schedule a look, considering that I will not be able to make the August event.

you're going to love Grand East. All the best parts of full course, plus even more turns. You definitely get a work out.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year - I'm eyeballing TrackDaze's event at Summit Main in July.

Heh yea I've been thinking about one for a year or two now.. My solution at least for this year is to forego any July/August events :P
Yea I do enjoy VIR. It's just a long way to travel without having a tow vehicle so I don't go often. Last weekend was a blast. LMK if you want any of the video I took of your car from behind.

Damn, I won't be able to make it to this one. I just placed an order with Coleman, and they told me that they have a 2+ week backlog on custom rotor orders, so I won't have any usable rotors in time for the event. I was really looking forward to running the grand course. Oh well, next year.

Here's a few laps in my car from yesterday. Still running original suspension, stock boost, street tires so not as fast as most ppl in the run group. Still had fun though!

That is a great quality video! What kind of camera are you using? I just picked up one of the cheap Aiptek A-HD+, but I forgot my charger this weekend and it only worked for a half a session before it went dead so I went back to my average, run of the mill, 4 year old, digital camera for video's.

It's the VS billet mount, but it doesn't compensate for the angle of the lens very well. Since someone damaged the mount on my camera already getting into the car, I made up an aluminum enclosure that secures the camera and bolts up to the mount. It's ugly but it works, and it cancels out the angle of the lens as well.
