OR A Mazda Rx2 rollcage modification question

Hi, I have recently purchased a 1972 Mazda Rx2.
The old car has had some work done to it though, specifically the rollcage inside it.
It was taken off of the road in 1994 and somebody built it for SCCA style racing(i'm not at all familiar with racing terminology, or the history or this rx2 either)
I want to get it back on the road but keep most of the racing elements too.
As you see in the pictures below, there's no room for a passenger seat because the big bar been put in the way. The floorpan has been cut a bit to make room for the side exhaust i got with it.
Also the only way to get into the car right now is to jump through the window because there's two bars in your way, i want to cut this big bar out the way so it's easier to get in and out of the rx2 but i don't want to ruin the rollcage and the way it has been designed either. if anything i want to retain or improve this cars performance, safety and practicality. And that's why i came here to ask around for advice in wether i am best to leave the car's cage the way it is or go about to modify it in a particular way.
I have access to a full shop that i think would have all the tools i'd need to complete a task like cutting and welding, painting etc etc.. wether i have the skills to do a good job is a different thing altogether..
Please excuse the photo's quality. I broke my phone so this is a macbook pro's camera and i hope it turn out okay.
Thanks for reading and i hope i haven't made a **** thread or something..

Pretty much cut whatever you want out of the cage. You can put stuff back that works for you. Just keep the main driver's hoop, rear supports, and the tubes along the top of the doors/windshield down to the front floor intact. If those are all OK with no splices you can update the cage how you want.
