I bought one from these guys over a year ago. I wanted the crush proof camera mount, since I wanted to use it with my kart. Not a bad system, kind of clumsily put together and not the best recorder. It looks like they have changed the recorder now. As far as price to buy, I have not seen even a basic system for less than $700.

A national winning autocrosser showed me his video setup a couple of weekends ago at a local race. He was using a generic lipstick/bullet cam with some kind of cheapo video recorder recording to a 4GB memory card. Said he put it together for a couple of hundred bucks.

This is my setup:
I bought a RCA Lyra x2400;
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ultimedia.html
added Clover CCM-660W;

and a Chase 3 suction mount.
Here is a video from it:

Total cost just under $200
Hope this helps,
Dan
