ITS housings

Mike at ISC is currentlly building my engine, and he found some small issues with the edges of the side rotor housings. He has already gone ahead and gotten me new front and rear housings as mine were too bad to use.

His advice was to use my housings. He said that it might cost a little power, but that they are about as good as those used in his rental cars. My question is does anyone have any experience with this? Also does anyone have any better priced sources for new housings?

I was thinking of buying a second engine for parts, but the chances seem to be pretty low that everything will be in the condition that I'm looking for.

Edges of the side housings? Like step wear on the irons? Is that what you are saying? We have them surfaced. You can get one cut out of used irons. Our process gives us a surface finish about 50% smoother than what we've measured new irons at. Much, much less expensive too.

As for buying new parts, there is no where cheaper to buy new OE parts than Mazdaspeed unless you find someone that is selling new, old stock.
