how to drift in competition

This corner is a transition from gravel onto tarmac. (very slippery)

Thanks to Robert form Rotary shack for the gears and diff, it worked well until our fuel problems ended our day.

Before this gets into another bitch-a-thon about drifting. I would post anything related perhaps somewhere else besides the race tech section. These seems to be some people who utterly despise drifting or anything associated. I wish I could view the video where I am not, but unable to. Just giving you a warning, maybe try race techniques, I dont think people will bitch as much. However if you could PM me, id like to see the video

According to DamonB, Race techniques is where drift discussion belongs.

I believe the title of the thread is, drifting IN competition, not drifting FOR competition.
The art of throwing the car sideways to get around a corner was around long before it became a "sport". Ever heard of the scandanavian flick?

And no we are not racing, we are rallying.

Of course. I practice it regularly...

But drifting is driving on the other side of the slip angle curve's peak. Getting sideways on dirt is how you get maximum grip since the road surface is constantly rolling out from under you. Maybe a minor semantics difference in the "what" but it's a HUGE difference in the "why".

And no we are not racing, we are rallying.
