Quite interesting and somewhat funny at times. Certainly quite a commercial.

I think that the "test" would have been a little more fair and accurate if for the first part, when they ran without the wing, they softened up the rear suspension to match the fronts better. I mean, it's like "hey, we removed the big wing from the rear w/o changing anything else - can you guess what's going to happen?"

Possible answers include a) oversteer, b) oversteer, c) oversteer, and d) all of the above.

Alternately, they could have slapped the wing on a properly set up stock (no wing) car and shown how much understeer it could induce!

Now I don't speak Japanese, so they could have been explaining this in the audio.

The only thing I wish is that they'd thrown the FEED wind in there for comparison. I'd like to see what that one does, because I'm not a huge fan of the '99, and can't quite bring myself to strap a GT wing on what is still a street car.

Ever read the auto speed article where they tested the air flow around the car with wool tufts. The figures that Mazda released showed that the Base wingless 7 had the same down force at the rear of the car was the wing equiped R1. Interesting isn't it.

Not surprising, I think we discussed it before. Nice article, though. Thanks for the link!
