dash molding?
dash molding?
I decided to keep my dash, Since I cant afford a full out cage yet. Im wondering, any of you guys make moldings of cf or fiberglass? I picked up a AIm sports dash unit, and since Im getting rid of all stock items, I want to mold the stock tach surround, removing all the turn sig, light switch, etc and accessible holes. So I can mount the dash unti to a new unit. Or if anyone can recommend a company.
take out your gauge cluster and make a template on cardboard of it. Then retrace that for your fiberglass or Cf and bolt it back in place of the stock gauge cluster. Just drill out the holes for each gauge to sit in once it is dry.
You basically just need to make a flat sheet that is the same design as stock.

You entirely certain there aren't holes where the switches were before? Really all he could do would be to mold a new bezel or patch his old one, I'm not aware of anyone making a kit like that.
Here are some pics of mine. I gutted the stock dash plastic and mounted it directly to my roll cage. I patched up all of the holes with lightweight aluminum pieces covered in black vinyl so that they would match the plastic. I don't think its too heavy at all as it sits, and it looks better than just the EP bar.
