Could an FD be prepped well enough to beat Danny Popp in ASP?
Kind of a hypothetical question. Knowing that driver has most the control of the outcome, is the car still capable? This comes to mind as I read (and reread) the article about his Z06 in the latest GRM. What mods could we do and still stay in ASP since SM2 is getting more and more difficult.

Absolutely not. Top notch driver (Popp) in the strongest car for the class (Z06). FD isn't going to win unless Popp completely blew it.
The driver counts more than the car until you reach a high level of competition where ALL the drivers are good. At that point if the potential in your car is much less than the one parked next to you most likely you will have a tough time being consistently competitive.

He races around my region. I really just want to go out and see how good he and the car are.
As for the update/backdate rules in ASP is it possible to use 99 spec parts or is that only for cars that made it to the U.S.?
