camber advice?
I run a 1979 that just destroyed the outer edge of the tire last track day. I really know little about the car. The previous owner seems to have just driven it and not done a lot of working on it... so no help there. I just got a new set if hankook venus and am about to participate in an scca license school in two weeks. I dont want to kill these tires and they have to last for 12 hours of driving between two drivers. So this weekend im taking them to be aligned. How many degrees should I tell them to set them? Im going to be running on roebling road and the car only weighs 2400 with me in it. I was thinking 2-3 degrees up front. And possibly a degree in back?

it depends on the tires sizes, how hard you drive, etc etc etc, but -2 to -3 in front is good, and -1 in the back is fine too.

You are in a turn of some kind more than you are going straight at Roebling. If you have camber plates don't be afraid of 3 degrees, you'll probably want more than 2 anyway.
Without knowing your set up with suspension its hard to give an exact number. Is this old school huge front bar, soft rear springs or the latest extra link rear suspension with ackerman adding front strut spacers(GForce Eng. influenced)?
The rear is what it is. There will be some camber even if its stock. The most I've seen the splines in the diff allow without much protest is .9. Don't be suprised if they aren't the same side to side.

I really dont have anything to compare but its definately not a stock setup. There is a panhard bar setup in the rear with a spring and the shock is separate. Front is a coilover mounted with adjustment from the strut housings. I can tell the sway bar is after market just cause the color. I see what you all mean by no adjustment in the rear. My corvette has half-shafts so I wasnt really thinking. My tire size im running is 225/45 13.

Need to see the bottom of the front struts for sure to see if there are any spacers, and what kind. Then look for an extra link attached to the top of the diff heading into the tunnel area on the driver's side.
Those two items will give an idea of how developed the car is and what ideas it was built with.
