Good luck BIG AL!!!!
I have fallowed Rob's link and became a fan of you guys.
I sold my FC racecar and I'm in the process of starting my FD racecar project.(you may have seen it parked outside CLR) [black FD with rollcage].
any way I sended my rotors to Carlos Lopez today, hope you guys give him time to work on other customers.
Carlos made me a 13B PP a couple of years ago, I'm very happy with his work. this time I'll be making a 13B BP to run down here in Dom. Rep.
you & Rob can say that you have inspired at least 1 more person to make an FD racecar.
keep on posting pics and Info.
thanks
Che.

yes, I have seen your car, I was there the day it was taken away to be shipped. Don't worry we'll share Carlos with you. The FD is just such a good platform to start with, it just makes since to start with it.

Good luck with your project.

Well we installed our seat (donated from and old Ferrari Challenge Car [thank you Alain]) we made our own seat brackets (I didn't realize they only cost $47 or else I would have bought them)

We also receive and installed the Sweet Manufacturing steering column (you can't beat the kit for the price).
Here you can see the pedals in the background

Well we've been working on the racecar, we've already installed the dry sump tank (pictures coming soon), but we had to take a week or so off to finish Rob's car (race this weekend) we'll resume our regularly scheduled program right after the race.

Build looks incredible.

Serious Question: Why not use the stock pedals? Are they not close enough together or is it because their mounting points were removed with the dash?

It's becuase these are real brakes. Attatched to the pedals are tilton master cylinders and NO booster! A must for a true race car.

I see. I just noticed in the pictures of them out of the car they have cylinders attached. I did not catch that the first time.

Tri Point also sells them fwiw

The guys at Tri Point are very helpful with regards to suspension setup, spring rate selection and all that good stuff. They also service and rebuild.

Well we're back to work (btw we had a great time driving Rob's car this weekend, that new Jerico is awsome!). Below you can see the dry sump tank mounted as well as the fenders, bumper and bumper support we fabb'd up.

here's the bumper support we made, we think it turned out pretty cool

My plan is to attach the bumper to the support via dzus fasteners for easy removal to load and unload from the trailer.
I ordered the radiator from C&R radiators today so we should have it chopped up and installed next week

that's it for now, enjoy!

no problem, but it will be a while because I haven't bought my dry sump front cover ($2500-3000 ) as soon as I have the cover I will do a little write up.

Props on a very methodical build. Carlos is a great guy. Definately knows his stuff inside and out. I had him lighten and balance my rotating assembly this last winter. This engine runs like a top and twice as smooth .
Good luck with your build. Looks like a fun time.

That looks like a bad *** build! It is going to rip!

If you want lightweight parts check out Jeff Kiesel's FD race stuff:
7parts.com

What brakes are going on the car?

I sent you a PM about a couple other things.

BTW- It is Justin Samberg

thanks for the compliments guys, you all know how much work this is. As far as brakes, my plan is to use a set of Brembo calipers I got on a real good deal, I'm still trying to figure out what rotors to use.

I need to throw in a big thanks to my partner in this venture Rob!

Here you see we installed the dzus fasteners, two front and one on each side, we're gonna put in two more in the front down low.

We're hoping to have the radiator installed this weekend.

See you soon

Rob and I we're at it again this weekend, we added two more dzus fasteners at the bottom of the bumper (it really feels firm now!). We also made some brackets to hold the fender independent of the bumper. We also started mocking up the radiator.

here's the bumper with the extra fasteners

Heres the all the brackets

Do you have the part number for the dry sump parts? This build is great.
