The new FasTrack just came out, the FD stays in SS, but the BMW's and the Boxster S moved down to AS...can't believe they'd split the Boxster S and the Rx7...they're very comparable...

Anyone wanna tell me what class I would end up in? I'm guessing CSP if the info I've read in this thread is correct.

Porting puts you into either SM2 or Modified (BM, I believe?). We've had the PFC discussion about classing ... currently, that's a definite Prepared and beyond modifications (dammit). The update/backdate ruling (for your J-spec stuff) is somewhat unclear for Street Prepared, but either way, the streetport eliminates that option for you anyway. Altogether, you should be kosher for SM2. Course, you could run Modified and try to keep up with cars that are 400-600 lbs lighter than you.
Sleep, you might have some problems keeping boost to 11psi with both the RS/RZ turbos AND the streetport. My RZ turbos regularly hit 12-13 psi (60-80F weather) with my reman engine ... and I've still got the stock airbox on right now. (Sorry, off-topic.)

Strut bars are permitted with all types of suspension. Strut bars may be mounted only transversely across the car from upper right to upper left suspension mounting point and from lower right to lower left suspension mounting point. No other configuration is permitted. Additional holes may be drilled for mounting bolts. Only bolt-on attachment is permitted.

I've decided to put the brakes on my Rx7 Build up project (to keep it under budget). This means, I will retain the stock IC and airbox with K&N filter and Racing Beat Intake Duct. My exhaust mods will remain--dp/high-flow cat/RB dual tip CB.
I was on the phone with Dave Barninger (KDR Performance Inc) about my Power FC base map mods with a ported motor, J-spec RS/RZ twins, and 11 psi; he said all would be fine without additional fuel mods (1300-cc secondary injectors and Nippondenso Comp Fuel Pump).
He'd change the Power FC maps to add more fuel during the 4300 rpm switchover to deal with the spiking that occurs there; and he'd retard the timing to compensate for the increased crank angles of the enlarged intake/exhaust ports.
I imagine that 11 psi boost control is more like an average boost with the Apex Power FC? In reality, your boost gauge probably jumps around between 8 and 13 psi?
I plan to sell the car next fall, so the future owner will need to add a larger IC, better intake, and adjust the Power FC AFRs to deal with denser aircharge densities; and add 1300-cc secondary injectors and Nippondenso Comp fuel pump.
In a nutshell, I can run in Street Mod 2 until I sell "Kim", is that correct?? (Named the car after Kim Barninger, she's the one porting and reassembling the motor )

As far as the boost reading, it's an Autometer gauge ... which I've read complaints about. But, no, it doesn't really jump around. It only fluctutates when you're not full throttle. However, the PFC is reading peak boost at 0.88kg; which is 12.936psi. So, for now, I'll believe the reading .. until proven otherwise. Like I've said in previous threads, these RZ turbos are awesome.

1 Bar = 1 kg/cm2 (approximately ... a few decimal points off)
The PFC displays boost readings in kg/cm2, so you're always having to calculate boost in your head.

Oh great, now I'll have to bring pencil/paper to convert Barr to psi (multiplication factor of 14.7) I guess my boost control will be set between 0.75 and 0.80 Kg/cm^2 (11 to 11.75 psi) ?

You can run any non-racing slick tire in any of the classes EXCEPT those that are restricted to street tires only (STS, any specialty classes offered locally ... ala Novice or Tire class). So, yes, you can run V700's in SM2 ... or whatever R-compound tire you can get your hands on .... provided there is a measurable tread depth on them.

I didn't find anything in the rulebook that would toss a streetported s4 NA into prepared category. The only text on allowable porting that I could find was under Street Prepared and states: "Intake and exhaust ports and manifold openings may be matched provided no change is made more than one inch from the port/manifold interface."
I know that this is not exactly streetporting etc. but I was just wondering what statement is it exactly in the rulebook that dictates streetporting moves you into prepared?
