Anyone try methenol injection?
A buddy of mine built a custom twin turbo Lexus LS400. He put together a custom methenol injection kit that comes in at a certain boost into the intake pipe. It's like a NOS setup, but is legal and is on at all times. Has anyone tried this? Is it safe to run in a rotary? What do you guess think?

You actually soundn't use more than 50% methanol (water/methanol sollution) because the methanol itself can pre-detonate in the combustion area. As long as you keep the sollution at or below 50/50 ratio it's a good idea as it'll give you a little extra boom
BTW Zerobanger, do you notice an increase in power with the methanol sollution? It could be that it just makes it easier for the spark to ignite the air/fuel mixture.

I use pure water now with iso alcohol sometimes now. I was only using about 35-40 pct methanol before (from windshield washer fluid).
Everything I read said pure water is best for preventing detonation anyway.

oh yea and I felt no difference between pure water and the alc/water combo EXCEPT...on my inital setup when I was running too large of nozzle, it ran better when I added alcohol.
The car pulls like a pitbull even when its 105 outside, its amazing. The best mod you can do to your car and its so damn cheap.

Water does indeed have a higher latent energy. That's something important to know about the methanol affecting the Al, I suppose if you really needed it, you could use Iso Alchohol instead of the methanol. Good info!
