Thx. Sorry for the slight hijack.
The Three Bond i prefer and use the most is 1215. I get it from a supply house here in Michigan. but can be ordered from Subaru dealers...

The 1133 sets to quick for me. 1133 is best used for a in a hurry at the race track situation .

I get the big boys as you can see ...

Quick update:

I continued with some subsystem assembly, but ran into a show stopper when installing the new fuel rails.

First off, the Xtreme Rotaries rails, and spacers for the injector to engine, are very nice. It was easy install of the Injector Dynamics injectors (these came with spacers for injector to rail)... the spacers poped right in and all was good untill I put the LIM on after the primaries rail was in....then I was like WTF????? Look at the pictures below and you will see what I mean...

Pic with primary rail installed but before LIM went back on, all looked great and was 'plug and play' with the sweet spacers that made it all easy:

Then, I put the LIM on and ...well you can see the issue...

Here is a pic at another angle making the problem painfuly obvious, there is no way to get a AN fitting on as the LIM shape there blocks the area:

Now the fix seems easy enough, just grind off that extra material on the LIM, I was just not expecting it.....maybe this is normal and common among 20b builds with aftermarket fuel rails? this is my first 20b build so I would not know. :-)

Easy enough if you do not cut too far as it might enter the secondary injector port.
But man, what a clean engine...

Damian.

This how you fix, get rid of those gay hats on the injectors (they are nothing but problems) Put fuel rail on, if it clears... use cut and re-drill the rail mounts to fit the lower position of the injector.

If that don't work, i have another way you can make work ...

Thanks Chip U

Isn't work a pain in the ***, it gets in the way of the really interesting stuff.

Good luck with it, really looking forward to seeing this running, would like to catch up with you at a track next year on one of my visits if possible.

Ok, finally I have a chance to post an update.

On the fuel rail issue a few posts up, I modified the rail brackets to lower the rail, this did 2 things: get rid of the top adapters, move the rail away from the 'nub' part of the LIM casting.

Few pics of that change, you can see it clears the casting 'nub' now with room to get a fitting in the rail:

Ironically, all that effort would be for nothing as I would move to a shortened aftermarket LIM that has a special fule rail that mates with it (you sill see that in the next post).

Here are a few pics of the new oil coolers:

I will get some pics up of the filter setup and thermostat setup when I can.

BTW who did you use for the replating of the bolts?

With all the NASA class changing/shifting, what sandbox are you going to play in? ST1? STR1?

I'll give the update for Damian since he's slow.

Car is a work in progress, and paying work has been preventing most of that progress.

On the plus side, we did take the car up the road to a welder/fabricator guy this weekend because next up is the fabrication of the motor mounts, which is pretty tricky given the particular set of rules that NASA has now for ST1. The motor is kindof too big to fit low and behind the steering rack without some firewall fab work.

In any case, this is a big step to get completed, once it's done the turbo setup can be determined and created. Once that's done the major mechanicals are figured out and the rest of the electrical and plumbing can start.

Then there's about 50 other things to do to get the sucker running.
