Worked on some dash/shiftlights setup while waiting for the motor to arrive, here are some pics:

Mounted the dash and made a CF plate to get the shiftlights in the right spot. I took the picture right at my eyeline so you see what I see in terms of view angle to shiftlights, above the wheel, but not intruding on actual road view:

Pic with the steeringwheel in place:

Pic with the lights on:

Well that looks fairly easy to deal with. How is the shifting and pedals?

>>Well that looks fairly easy to deal with.

Thanks, I am glad it 'looks' that way, but easy is not the word I would use :-)
What you dont see are the hours spent trying ways to get the dash/lights mounted right, wires routed right, et...but when it all comes together correctly in the end, it does make it look easy :-)

>>How is the shifting and pedals?

You can see my pedal setup in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/race-car-tec...t-2-a-1004164/

Shiftig will be no different than before as my same t5 trans (with dogbox gearset) is going back in, the only difference is that I will probably not need the remote shifting setup I made for it as the shifter may end up in the correct spot once we position the engine where we want it. Here is the thread on that t5 trans I setup: https://www.rx7club.com/race-car-tec...o-pics-777978/

And the video of the first test using it:

Engine arrived!!! Chip did a great job crating the motor to keep it protected during shipping.

Here are some pics of the 'Grand Opening' event :-)

Nice work Chip!!!!!!

Now its my turn for the next phase of the build, getting it in the car and running :-)

Here are the next steps for me:
- engine fitment and mounting (this needs to happend before any of the rest below)
- oil subsystem setup
- fuel subsystem setup
- ignition subsystem setup
- engine sensors setup
- coolant hose setup
- turbo subsystem setup
- engine tuning and testing

and I probably forgot like 10 others, so ya...looong ways to go yet :-)

Nice engine Damien, quick question. Any reason to why the engine does not have bigger studs? Or is it doweled more? As a stock tension bolt 3 rotor wont handle to much HP. Or you are not aiming ofr more then 500hp?

Yep target is 450 +/- 10 depending on weight of the car. The 20B is for longevity and flat power rather than big numbers.

This engine is the nicest I have seen - the quality of the internals is still to be tested, but if the inside has the same attention to detail as the outside and overall this is what you get from Chips consistently then I would get all my stuff there. Looking forward to helping Damian get this in the car and then when he's not here moving the seat back so I can drive it!!!

Geez, even have a threaded pipe plug in the oil dipstick hole - nice to have a dry sump. Do you have your PCV setup worked out?

Are you going to have an electronic level sensor so you can check your oil fill on your iPod over the interweb?

Cut the crap guys or Damian will just keep staring at the thing. Get it in the car and post some vids of it running at the track

On a side note, I wonder what sealant Chip is using that is baby blue ^_^

PCV, what you be talkin about!!

>>Are you going to have an electronic level sensor so you can check your oil fill on your iPod over the interweb?

First of all, the interwebs is a series of tubes and those tubes are full, that is why this site is slow. ;-)

Second of all, there is no second of all, refere to the first of all above. :-)

The best silicone sealant out there and what i use in all my builds is ThreeBond Liquid Gasket.
