RX7Store.net my new enemy

So its very rare that i go through a smaller company for parts, but hey i only hear good things about rx7store. I look around for the fuel pump i need (supra tt) and go to order it. Well i see theres no option other than fedex ground. Thats my first turn off, i want this pump asap so i can get back on the road. Well i order it anyways figuring, its 1 pm on thursday, it should be shipped by saturday, monday the absolute latest, comming from ohio i should have it by wednesday. As a comment on the order form i ask if it is possible to upgrade to overnight and that i would cover the costs. I get a responce awhile later saying that the pump will be shipped monday and i will have it tuesday. Fantastic. I wait around tuesday and nothign so i give them a call and what do you know, they didnt drop it off to fedex till 3 pm, gbut am assure that i will recieve it on wednesday. Ok 1 more day no big deal. Well i finally get my tracking number and since it wasnt dropped off at fedex till 3 pm it didnt even leave the facility and now im not getting it until thursday.

Now the only reason i am pissed is because i kept being assured i would get it sooner than i actaully was. I would have been fine waiting until thursday to get the pump in the first place but with all these assurances that i would recieve it on tuesday of course i got my hopes up, got everything around for it to be changed today and nothing. So now all day i have had my hopes up again of getting it wednesday and guess what, another no go. Oh yea, thursday i work so now it will be until friday before i can get my car on the road.

Rx7Store has definately lost all of my future business over something as minor as failure to do what they said was being done. Sucks for them because i tend to spend a good amount of money on cars. ...end rant

IF it was dropped off at a fedex location at 3pm local time, there is no excuse for fedex not to move it that night. They are busy loading their trucks in the evening for the night runs to the regional terminals. I consistently ship stuff with UPS, the Morristown terminal closes at 7pm local time and I get there around 6 usually. By about 9-10pm that night I can see that the **** is moving, and it usually will have gotten to knoxville by 1-2am.

Same for incoming shipments...if it is in Knoxville that evening, it is at my door the next day.

I wouldnt bitch at rx7store because of fedex' failures. Perhaps customers do not see things this way, but the seller and the shipping company are 2 totally different entities and the shipper is not very accountable to anyone, including the seller.

^ I think he's arguing the fact that they lied to him, since they were supposed to send it out a certain day, but didn't.

No offense to the rx7store, but I think it is pretty widely known that they rarely ship items within 1-2 days of the order being placed. Since this is no secret, one almost has to fault the buyer for getting angry about this obvious tendency.

That said, there's no excuse for them to outright tell him one thing and then do another. That's why when people try to ride my *** over a completion date for a job or a shipping date for a part, I tell them I will not make promises, I will get it done when I get it done.

I do understand both points with them telling you it shipped, and it not going out even though it was dropped off pretty early. I would like to say that im sure they are very busy considering they are moving into a new facility and trying to run a business at the same time. If it really makes you that upset, call jason and talk to him about it. He has always been fair to everyone ive seen buy stuff from him. I know it wont help get your pump faster, but voice your opinion to him as well. Maybe he will take off the cost of shipping or something.

What makes it widely known that they are slow shippers? I would have never known that unless I stubled across this rant from BigJim. Their website definately dosent say that.
If a seller says they will have something out within 1-2 days they need to have it out or change the timeframe to one they can do. When they tell you they are going to have something out at a certian date that is their promise, you not making promises about ship dates would prevent people from complaining about you not shipping stuff out when you say you will, because you didnt say when you would.
It is better to say it might take longer then ship it out sooner then basically lie to someone about when they are going to ship it. I get very annoyed when I order something and it isnt shipped when they tell me it will be. Like BigJim, when the store is slow it screws up your schedule, that is something I cant stand especially when you are a very busy person. Time is Money!
As for when the package was out of their hands and in FedEx's I would then be complaining about FedEx.

FOr years I have seen posts in GG/BG about people ordering stuff from there and not getting it for 2 or 3 weeks, calling and finally finding out that the item was actually on backorder, lost in shipping, or whatever. Of course they are not going to broadcast it, but many a customer has had issues with getting their stuff when they wanted.

That said, I am sure many more, even the majority, have had no issues at all. But we dont hear about them, because the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

For my part, I've bought stuff from them a few times and never had a single issue. I am always sure to clarify with the person on the phone that they check to see that the item is physically in stock and will ship within 1 day of my order being placed. I am assured it is so, and then the item arrives in about 3 days.

This is a rediculous thread. To get all fired up over a couple day delay is crazy when it comes to the car part market. Jason and the store would be out of business if anyone except a very few had these types of problems.

The point is that he wasnt notified of any delays. I bought a OBD II code scanner from an online store and they didnt even call me to tell me it was out of stock at one of their warehouses. After a week of waiting for my card to be charged I called them. I asked them if it was instock at another warehouse, sure enough it was... No one took the time to tell me there was going to be a 3 week delay for that warehouse and on top of that no one thought to check the other warehouses. With that said I bought some aquarium equiptment from hellolights.com and I got a call 2 hours after my order was placed telling me the item I ordered was out of stock, and they told me when it was supposed to be in stock and if I wanted to cancel the order or just have them complete it when they could.

As a Fed Ex employee, I can say there there is an excuse for them to not move it that night. Have you seen the way the loaders and package handlers move things around for the most part? They act as though they have lead in their ***, and have to drag it around wherever they happen to venture.

The loaders (here around Sacramento at least) manage to get 2 or 3 trailers to us at the unload time, but take another hour and a half (or more) to get another trailer or two, to us.

Yeah dont blame RX7 store, they arent at fault for this one (I havent ordered anything from them yet, but soon...soon.)

In general though, Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, pretty much all of the companies are the same. They all want your money, and the employees are all underpaid.

^ Again, the problem he has is with RX7 Store LYING to him about when the product had been shipped, not directly with FedEx not shipping out that same day.

Not sure how to respond to this thread.
I think my exact words were that from Ohio it only takes a day to get to Michigan. I dont remember saying it had already been shipped or a specific day that you would get it. Maybe it was my misunderstanding of the day you needed it and for that I appologize. This was an item I had in stock, but this time of the year with us being crazy busy it usually takes me a day or so to process the order and another to ship. It can take longer it I have to dropship an item since I have to rely on someone else to ship.
If anyone has any concerns about an order please give me a call.

Sorry for the confusion on this and I will hook you up on anything else you need.

Jason

I went back to look at this order. It was placed last Friday the 20th around 1pm. I ran the order on Monday and shipped Tuesday.

this thread makes me sort of pissed....1. never take your car apart untill all parts are in hand. 2. its not a honda, parts arent allways in stock. 3. jason says they were in stock, it didn't even take more than a few days....you should thank him. i've waited longer for universal parts.

Maybe the thread title should be changed from:

"RX7Store.net my new enemy "

to

"RX7Store.net sent my fuel pump and I'm getting it 2 days later than I thought, and I'm mad because I'm rediculously impatient."

Should have been tittled "Rx7store.net should have dropped what they were doing so I could get my part in 15 min or less".

It isnt a taco bell drive through. This thread is horrible.

I don't completely think this thread is ridiculous(am I the first in the thread to spell it correctly?), I believe when a company is advertising a part as "in stock", and a customer buys it and asks for it by a certain time, they should get the part by that time!

I don't think the thread starter is incorrect in this situation.

I've ordered a lot of parts from RX7store, and it took me a very long time to receive some of my items, with no calls to explain the delay. I must say, however, that Jason is VERY good about working with a customer to solve a problem, and an overall good guy. He is relatively easy to contact, and doesn't get aggravated or mean over the phone. The delay in shipping time of parts makes me consider other websites before I venture to RX7store's page.

The vast and easy to navigate RX7store is one of my favorite places to search for parts. If they can get their shipping department working more effeciently, they'll definitely be my homepage.

To clear this up. The customer never specified a date. When he placed the order online he said to send it overnight if it didnt cost over $20. Overnight was $33 so I didnt send it that way. Since he was only a state away from me I just sent it ground knowing it would get there quick. If he lived in California I would have sent it 2 day air based off what he said because that would take 5-6 days ground.
