Positive: mannymazda (used to be negative, but resolved!)

I recently purchased a set of dual Weber carburetors and the associated manifold from mannymazda.

Original quoted price was $450.

Then if I wanted the throttle bracket it was $470.

Then it was $480 because of PayPal fees.

Fine, I bit my tongue on the throttle bracket, even though it's a pretty bullshit stunt to make such necessary parts 'extra.'

Then after I sent the $480, he emails me back asking for yet another $20 to cover the PayPal fees that were supposed to be covered by the $480 I sent him earlier.

At this point he had my money and I felt I had little choice, so I sent the extra $20.

The terms of the deal was that insurance was to be purchased with the shipping.

Then, mannymazda tells me that shipping cost him $73.

That's a flat-out lie, because he shipped via Airmail Parcel Post and the package weighed 25 pounds. Shipping that package via that method costs around $40.

At this point I'm seriously freaking out because I have a series of half-truths and one flat-out lie.

The carbs arrived yesterday morning.

Broken, because mannymazda put all the parts in a box without anything to stop them from banging around during shipping.

And I haven't even gotten to the part where the carbs are missing much of the needed hardware to install.

This has been a very bad experience. Beware.

That's a lot of money you gave up for a pile of metal, essentially since that's what it sounds like you got.

Bait, switch, and ditch. File a complaint through PayPal if it's not too late...they probably can get your money back.

Update:

his 'solution' is to ship the carbs back to him at my cost and then he'll refund me the cost minus what he paid for shipping.

What a great solution, take me for even more money and get the carbs back so he can resell them to some other ususpecting dupe!

That's assuming, of course, that I trust him to refund the money once I ship the carbs. After this, I have no such expectation.

Steer clear, guys. This dude is nothing but a snake.

I've filed with PayPal, hopefully I can get some of my money back to cover the damage and the needed hardware.

Smile Receipts for the shipping to Canada

Here is the proof of shipping cost to Canada where I was doubted and I think I did put some insurance on the item. I will do my very best to conpensate Matthew to the extent of my abilities and to clear up this up I am not and nor will I ever be a liar, bad seller and snake as Matt has described in this thread. I'm sorry that Matt chose USPS over UPS to save a few dollars, but when I checked UPS the shipping was the same. That I will never understand but whatever floats his boat. He got what he paid for, bad service. I did bubble wrap the carbs, intake and everything. His decision to USPS is not my fault and even though I still got **** on and my REP also got **** on. Well I hope that we can work out this misunderstanding, because my REP is everything to me and I would appreciate if Matt posts an apology as he post the comment on the thread to try to ruin my REP. For all that are reading this, and have delt with me in the past, and will deal with me in the future, you know my service, and my dedication to the Rotary World is my world and as MannyMazda, I have a "REP TO PROTECT".

I'm frustrated with the miscommunication and the obvious disconnect between your receipt and the reality of shipping costs on the USPS website. I'm also frustrated because the state of the carbs was what I expected based on the ad.

Let`s also get something straight on shipping.

I wasn`t looking to save `a couple bucks.` Anyone who lives in Canada or has shipped to Canada knows that in addition to the taxes which are due on all items, UPS and FEDEX charge `brokerage` fees, which are exorbitantly high. UPS won`t even publish said fees on their website because they`re so egregious.

We`re talking about an additional $100 or more, so no wonder I`m not lining up to get fucked by UPS or FEDEX. I told you that in our communications, so don`t play this up as somehow being MY fault. I`ve had items shipped to me via USPS for years. None of them were damaged when they arrived and all got to me in the prescribed time-frame.

Finally,

The box that the carbs came in has a postage mark on it.

It doesn`t say $73.

Neither does the shipping label indicate shipping insurance.

So by all means, mannymazda, let`s try and work this out. But don`t paint yourself as the saint here, nor try and shift the blame onto me for this affair.

Here's a picture of the box and the shipping label.

$42 is a far cry from $73.

not likely at all....$42 USD is equal to roughly $46.68 CDN right now....

Something is very clearly wrong with this, but it may not be manny's fault. he produced a receipt, and if I were him I would be taking this information back to the place he used for shipping to find out why he was overcharged. If all this info is accurate, that is.

Update:

mannymazda has offered to cover the cost of repairing the damage to the carbs and I have accepted. To his credit, he did what he could to resolve the matter and I'm satisfied that the shipping issue was one of confusion rather than a deliberate attempt on his part to take advantage of me.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for the harshness of my posts in this thread. I was frustrated and it did appear that things were not as they seemed, but the majority of the problems between the two of us appeared to hinge on miscommunication rather than deliberate attempts to decieve.

I'd like to thank mannymazda for stepping up and doing the right thing and now consider the matter closed.
