If I had the money for an 800 dollar used clutch, then I'd probably get a new OMP...I'm not trying to flame, just wondering....I mean since they're prone to failing and everything, why not just get a new one from Malloy?
New OMPs are something like $1500 from Malloy. 6 grand a month isn't a ton of money, especially living in the NYC area.......

I don't know why you guys insist on ragging on Marcel. Some things are not about money. But I guess I am from the old school, a lost generation of morals, values and principals. You take full responsibility for your actions. In this case something went wrong with the shipping. So, the seller takes whatever action they can to remedy the situation. If the post office screwed up, then the seller has to deal with them, not the buyer. The buyers responsibility ends with the transferring of funds for what they are buying.
Learn it , live it.

In regards to the thread topic: I've dealt with fong before purchasing parts. He was very courteous and even provided me with a bolt I needed for free.

In regards to your complaint: Your anger is misdirected. You need to be focusing on getting the postal office to find your package, since they are in physical possession of it. The buyer is responsible for shipping your item to you securely and insured if you ask for it. Beyond that both buyer and seller are at the mercy of the shipper. The simple answer is to make sure it's insured and don't have a cow if it doesn't show up. Follow through with making a claim given the instructions provided.

Hint: Insurance wouldn't be an option if the post office didn't lose packages. Think about it.

guys, thanks all the support. it looks like we are still not over here.

doc, I don't think I ever ask marcel to deal with post office. I went straight to post office after he told me not seeing the package. then I told him what the post officer told me. I NEVER ask the buyer to deal with the post office. You are misdirected by what Marcel said. Can check my other post for details. I went to post office twice before he posted here. I even posted for suggestion.

Jic, I usually do the delivery confirmation with normal pacel service. sometime I do that for priority mail too. But I just didn't do that for his package, while I already sent it to him in priority mail even though he didn't ask me to do that. that is more expensive service.

BUT, you have to know that delivery confirmation will not guarantee the package to the receiver's hand. it will only let you know when the post man drop it off to the destination. it can be at the front door, it can be at the front porch. the post man just scan the package, and leave it wherever they feel that is safe. if there is someone(kid) just pick it up for no reason, then the buyer will never receive the package. that certaily can happen.

then, what happen if some bad guys use that hole to scam the seller for FREE parts. it certainly can happen. not just seller can scam buyer for money; bad(cheap) buyer can scam some legid sellers for FREE parts as well.

as I suggested in the my post, better use signature service, and use insurrance if possible. then sellers(ventor) will have to pass those fees to the buyers. just like paypal fees. then a lot of time, some buyers do not like that. so, the even better way is to let the buyer to choose what kind service they want, insurrance or not, and then warn them about the possible case. then disclaim all the responsibilities once the package is out of the door, and the seller follow whatever the buyer want him to do.

I think that I will do that for the future pretection. I'm just sick of deal with this kind of stuff again.

You have it right about using signature service...

From the rules for this forum:

"Sellers MUST USE a traceable method of shipment and remember to write the buyer's address on it. This usually only costs a few bucks extra."

Your experience confirms this.

Nah - fong sucks.

Bought an oil line on the other forum from him - and was very specific with which one I wanted.

I was specific several times in several PM's.

fong sent the wrong line anyway.

So - that nimrod wanted me to pay for shipping of his mistake back to him. For this reason - fong SUCKS.

chaosseven, we already talked about this many times. I sent you the wrong part by mistake, but I should get the wrong part back before I refund you the money. but you refused to ship it back, just because you have to pay that $3 shipping cost up front. I never say I will not give you the refund. go read all you PMs. I still have all of them for record.

do you want to move on, or just start the mess each other? I have the time to deal with you. Chaosseven SUCKS.

you clearly fail to understand how this works.

If you use delivery confirmation, and the package is verified to have been delivered, no matter what some kid in the neighborhood might do, you as a seller are off the hook. I dont care who would try to say what--all you would need to do is provide the delivery confirmation info and you would have proven that you sent it out.

Yes, proven that it was sent out, but to the right address?

The problem with the USPS with just a delivery confirmation is that there is no listing as to what address it was sent to. You do not receive a receipt from them that has the shipping address on it. Their tracking only tells you what city and zip it went to.

Ups has the same thing on their site but atleast when you pay for it you have the filled out slip that has the address that it is to be delivered to.

Dhl not only has the info on the slip that you fill out but when you track it, it will show the address that it was delivered to.
What I do with my deliveries thru USPS is take a picture of the box that I am shipping with the address on it and the postage after I use the automated center. This way there can be no dispute(Yes) I hold onto the pm's that I receive with the shipping info given to me or the paypal address until that package has been received by the buyer. With a digital camera it only takes 2 seconds to do this and save on your computer for reference.

Fong is a good seller from my experience. I bought some 4 pot brakes from him and I got them within a week. They even had brake pads on them. LOL He had great communication with me. Not too long ago when I was looking for alot of parts he was the first to pm me with what he has. He was even going to give me a pretty damn good package deal. Even though I chose not to buy the parts from him that time (cuz I found a parts car locally). If I didn't find the parts car I probably would have bought from him. Great guy in my opinion and great seller!!! **** happens at the post office. One time the lady messed up and did the wrong service when I specifically asked for priority with confirmation. Life is life give Fong a break! I talked to other people who have dealt with fong (can't remember who off the top of my head) and they told me he is a good seller and good guy to deal with... Hope everything works out fong...
