81WideMariah is a scam artist
I was looking for a 12A to replace my oil burner in my FB, so I put up a WTB ad in the for sale section, and I got a response from 81WideMariah:
So I sent him a message back asking how many miles, etc. Response:
I sent him a message back saying that I have a truck that I can come and get it with. Response:
So I go and get it. After a mind numbing 6 hour drive in an SUV I didn't have my wits about me. I inspected the engine and noticed that it was Bridgeported, awesome? At the time, yes. So I made the transaction and went home WITH NO CLUTCH! I WAS PROMISED A CLUTCH! I'm still kicking my self about this one.
I got home and pulled the engine from the truck, and started inspecting more, I knew I was going to have to pull the engine apart when I looked at the exhaust inserts, because they had holes in them from someone going nuts with a die grinder. I pulled the oil cap off and looked down only to find that there were chunks of rust flakes falling off into the oil pan, I'm not talking about surface rust, there were HUGE chunks falling off.
I started tearing the engine down, and the rear housing wouldn't come off because the rear bearing had locked onto the shaft for one reason or another. I finally got it off and screamed. There was more than 5/8" of chrome missing from the edges of the housings, new housings eh? The apex seals were steel (I later found out from Cam at Pettit racing that they were Rotary Aviation seals, housing killers), the grooves in the rotors were WAY out of spec, and NONE of the ports in the engine matched. It looked like it was ported by a 5 year old on crack. There were no chamfer around the edges on the ports either.
Now I'm stuck with a $1500 paper weight because of that bastard 81WideMariah. I'm just glad I didn't buy that transmission, it was probably stock and broken.
i got a freshly rebuilt 12a, new seals, apex seals, and rotor housings, and monster streetport ready to drop in, $1500 and it's yours...I'm in Orlando..
there's 0 miles this is a fresh and complete rebuild... everything is new..including rotor housings...it even has a freshly rebuilt 5 speed and new rb street/stip clutch...if you want the trany too it'll be $2000... this thing is built to run...it'll make a ton of power n/a or can run boost... let me know if you're interested...
'm available any day before 3 and i'm usually off in the middle of the week...i have the engine stored at my fiberglass guys shop so all i have to do is work out the logistics for him to be there... you can call me when you're ready and give me a couple days advance notice..321-279-2291..also just for the record, this is a short block, has no carb or headers on it so you'll have to provide that...but everything else is ready to go, including new water pump, and rebuilt distributor... also if you're planning on driving this thing hard i'd get the tranny too it's been rebuilt with harder gears and a little better ratio in 5th... i just say that because I blew up a tranny in my car with similar set-up... you got to remember that most of the trannies in our cars have a lot of miles on them and weren't built to take muck torque.. just cheap insurance... better then repalcing the tranny later... just my .02

do not buy anything from 81widemariah, i personally have seen box_man's 12a, and its exactly as how he described, i can understand 81 trying to get rid of that motor for 100-200$, but trying to scam someone for $1500 is just plain wrong, 81 go kill yourself
