WTR Temp sensor?

Can anyone confirm that the sensor behind the thermostat housing is the one that the PFC takes for it's water temp reading displayed on the commander? I think my sensor might be bad as I noticed the reading was 1 degree C on the commander and it was at least 23 degrees C in my garage.

If that isn't the sensor could someone please tell me which one it is, cause I think I need a new one. Thanks, Jerry

There are two sensors behind the thermostat housing .
The single wire one is the overheat thermoswitch which turns the fans on.

The other is the thermo sensor for the ECU. It is the same sensor as the fuel temp sensor in the secondary fuel rail. The only difference is that they use a different seal. You can even switch their green electrical connectors as a way of testing them.

So the thermo sensor for the ECU is the one which sends the signal to the Power FC commander for water temp? How would you be able to switch the connectors and have it still function properly? I'm a little confused

You posted "I think my sensor might be bad as I noticed the reading was 1 degree C on the commander and it was at least 23 degrees C in my garage.".

Carefully read my last sentence.

Okay, I got a look underneath and can see what your talking about. I'll switch them this weekend sometime and see if anything changes. Only problems I've been seeing is that one I described earlier and sometimes I see water temps about 4-8 degrees higher or even lower than what I would expect. Thanks for the help.

Remember, this swap is for testing only with the COMMANDER, not for running the engine. It is called binary testing.

Before I even got a chance to swap and check the connectors, I went out to start it and it had a harder time starting (3 or 4 cranks) and I noticed that the shaded section for WTR temp had no reading at all. All that shows up are some lines ( ------). I figure it must be something with one of the connections. I didn't change anything, put I was poking around in there looking at some of the things you were describing. Have you ever seen that on your PFC Commander?
