Hi, i just purchased a datalogit from a fellow member i was wondering if the serial number for the unit is on a label or not? The unit i received does not have a label, it only has numbers written in black marker. Is the black marker the serial number? Also would any db9 to svga serial cable work to hook the datalogit up to my laptop? or possibly any db9 to usb cable?

 

The black marker writing is the serial number, FC-Datalogit people are stuck in the 19th century . As far as the cable goes, any serial-to-USB with the proper driver will do fine.

make sure you install the drivers for the serial-to-usb cable first, or else it won't recognize anything, i just bought a brand new datalogit from rx7.com and it was a black box with a white label that showed the serial number

 

He's refering to the older version beige FC-Box though.
