Which Wideband for Datalogit?

Greetings,

I'm still deciding whether to go with an AEM, or PFC w/datalogit, but I do know that I'll be installing a wideband before I get either computer.

The two WB units that I'm looking at are the techedge, and the Lambdaboy. Can someone confirm that either, or both of these will work with Datalogit?

Thanks,

I got a reply back from Glen at Datalogit, and he said they could recommend the Tech Edge. I'm not sure if that means it's the only one they recomment, or even the only one that will work. Fortunately, it doesn't matter since I've already ordered the Tech Edge and PFC with Datalogit. You just get lucky sometimes

Is that Honda 02 sensor for the DIY readily available now?

It doesn't look like it

The parts bin had a note to call about availability and price, but then their automated system put me on hold, and followed by telling me to leave a message, so I hung up. NAPA had a note that said it usually shipped in 24 hours, and when I ordered it, my credit card immediately got billed. Unfortunately, that was Saturday morning, and as of Tuesday evening, there's no tracking info on the NAPA site, meaning it hasn't shipped.

Of course the Tech Edge site said that I would receive an email verifying my order in minutes, and that was also Sat morning, with no message yet. The Datalogit was also not in stock, so I'm not having the best of luck. Fortunately, I'm not really pressed for time.

It seems like any wideband would work. You need a Vout signal to connect it up for logging with the Datalogit. The DIY wideband has this, and a lot of people have been using this wideband with the Datalogit so there is good support. I think the primary reason people go with the DIY is price -- I know that is why I ordered it.

When you order the DIY, be sure to read the stuff about prividing identification / verifying your shipping address. If you use Paypal, there will be no issue, but I neglected to read the info on the TechEdge site when I bought mine with a credit card and I got an email that they needed to verify my shipping address. The method I chose was to Paypal them $1 that they promptly refunded. If you want to get your wideband quickly, using Paypal for payment should speed the process. If you already bought one with a credit card, watch your email for instructions about how to verify your address.

I just found the verification and security page on the Tech Edge site. It seems a little excessive. Pity I didn't read this before I placed the order, or I would have used Paypal. In the order process, it says you'll receive an email shortly to verify your order, but I haven't received anything yet. In fact, I emailed them yesterday to ask if they could confirm that they received my order. Nothing yet. I guess I'll just wait to hear from them, then play the verification game. Since all my numbers are unlisted, I'll probably have to do what you suggested and send the $1 Paypal.

Thanks for giving me something else to worry about

As an update on the WB O2 sensor availability, I just got a message from NAPA saying the part was on factory backorder, with no ETA, so my order was being cancelled. Well, have a nice day

I went back to the Parts Bin, and now their page shows something other than "call for availability". I called them up, and they are actually in stock, for $125.63. This is the Bosch labeled version, part number C5010-75044.

I'm using the FJO and it seems to work fine. There is a small discrpency between my LED and the datalogit readings (no, the issue is not the ground, my ground values are insignificant and the opposite of the discrpency )

That's good to know David, because I'll be using the FJO now as well.

It's a long a painful story, but I ordered the Tech Edge v1.0, but haven't received it yet. In the mean time, they now have the v1.5 out, and are promising a v2.0 in about a month. On top of that, I've tried all the usual places, and can't find a sensor. They tell me that I'll eventually be able to find one, but I don't feel like waiting for "eventually" to do my mods, and tune the car. I'm also not happy buying something that is now out of date before I even have it. I sent Tech Edge a message telling them to cancel the order, but it might have already shipped. If it does arrive, I'll either sell it, or send it back.

Yesterday, I purchased an FJO from- http://www.widebando2.com/ . What a pleasure! We went from phone call, to FedEx in about an hour. I wish I had done this earlier.

Cheers,
Rusty

Hi Daviddeco:

I'm also running yjr FJO with the datalogit and it's off by .5 A/F vs FJO readout...

how did you connect yours and what settings were used on the datalogit to calibrate (polynomial)?

thanks
