Sorry to Say it but **** what your builder wants. what does your tuner want?? Can your builder tune your car or is he just rebuilding your motor? You need to be more specific. And why do you want 550hp? have you ever been in a 350 HP FD? 550 is alot guy. And is this for the street or track? I have 467 now and honestly its wayyyy to much for the street. i dont get to enjoy it at all unless i go to the highway. And yes i have a power fc.

The PFC is a good ECU. It has limitations but in the hands of someone that knows the system it can be as reliable as any other. You should be able to trust your tuner. If he is familiar with the PFC and wants to use it there isn't a reason you shouldn't. Some other ECUs offer more advanced features and the ability to control accessories and do datalogging functions the PFC will never be able to do. If you need that stuff you may want to have a frank discussion with your guy. If you don't the PFC will meet your goals.

Quality tuners are the rarest part of the Rotary world. It isn't like someone could say "Yeah just pop by the the Pep Boys around the corner and ask for Jim". Even some "reputable" tuners have questionable practices and results.
