Power FC Stock vs Power FC
Stock vs Power FC
Thinking of getting a Power FC even though my car is pretty stock. How does the Power FC compare to a stock ECU in terms of running your accessories, smooth operation at all rpm's sequential turbocharger control etc.
I tried a search but didn't see what I was looking for.

You will find the car will accellerate much smoother. No hesitation. It will also fix the idle (eventually - takes a while to learn). The air conditioner may give you trouble, but it is easilly fixed. It's usually caused by poor connections to the thermoswitch behind the glove box or resistance in the switch. You will find the turbocharger will work better as well, but you will have to learn to adjust the ECU to get it the way you want it (or have a tuning shop do it for you).
It turns the car into what it should have been from the start.

im with david...
acceleration is a LOT smoother.. no hesitation, and when your idle starts bouncing .. dont panic.. just remember what it says in the owners manual and what you read on this board..

Buy one, get four of your friends who own them together, call Steve Kan, pony up $300 each, and let Steve do his magic. They come pretuned to a certain set of mods, but they are usually quite a ways off (on the rich side). Once Steve gets it tuned properly you won't believe the difference... trust me on this one!
Hey Salamander,
I didn't even notice, but you live in Houston? Steve works out of Gothamracing in Huddleston, TX. Just take your car there and buy it from them. Steve will put it in and tune the car for $250. It will be the best additional $250 you'll ever spend on the car!
