SR Motorsports power fc

I see that SR motorsports will tune your power fc to match the mods on your car. I was wondering if any one has delt with them? I am thinking that if they program it it will be good enough so if I do not beat on it I can get to my my guy to tune the car.... Cause right now I'm not even driving the car....

Thanks,
Craig K

Buy the cheapest PFC that you can find and then get it tuned ... buying a pretuned PFC is worthless.

I've read that SR motorsports will only tune the PFC after the initial tune, only if you buy their performance parts.

AND DANGEROUS.

BTW, there is a service charge from Ray that they don't mention until you want the PFC adjusted.

ABTW the SR map sent with my custom unit had a HUGE hole in the center of the map and negative splits all over.

Option 1. Buy a used PFC with commander. Take the car to the tuner shop, install it there and let the tuner slap on a datalogit and WB and then street tune it. For under $200 you get a real custom tuned PFC.

Option 2. Buy a used PFC w/commander. Buy a OZ-WB and a datalogit (about an additional $600.00 all together) and start learning to tune it yourself. Much better answer if you intend to continue upgrades.

I bought a PFC from SR Motorsports and I am very pleased! I told them my list of mods and they gave me a good fitting map. Since i dont have the most knowledge in PFC tuning that was a great first step! The engine runs perfectly for the mods I have. But, like most ppl say have it tuned with a wideband AF monitor and get exactly what you want.
It is honestly a good step for someone who wants to tune a modded car but doesn't want to have tons of expense right away. (dyno time, actual knowledge of tuning a PFC, or having someone tune it with the correct equipment)
Once you have the Power FC, you will want to take it somewhere to be tuned. It is a good first step to tweaking.

Unless you have wideband AFRed it, and dynoed it;
runnng fine does not mean anything.

Mine ran fine but produced 15HP less than it does now and with lean 12.2AFRs at 12psi boost. It's torque curve also was not as flat as it is now. You do not get exactly what you paid for. Others also had poor results with mail order maps.

Get a used PFC.. and see when one of the tuner will come near your town.. Baddogs been travelling quite abit to different parts of USA>. and also Steve kan from gothan racing..

They are both really good tuners and have heard many good things.. But i prefer Steve.. just because he has the background and experience.. Just slightly more than Baddog, Tony..

I'm getting mine tune by Steve kan when my new engine and every thing gets done..

Don't get it pre-tuned, my car hasn't ran right every
since they tuned my car. But the power fc used or real
cheap then get it dyno tuned by a power fc specialist.

My so called custom tuned SR PFC had nothing other than top 3 PIM pressure settings upped 3-5%, which by the way were too rich. Still had to tune it anyway.

I've got an SR Motorsports tuned PowerFC and my car track runs perfectly and is very strong. On the other hand, nothing beats tuning with a wideband on a dyno to get close, then on a race track to get really close.
Regarding SR Motorsports: Communication is important.

Isn't that the truth------From my experiences, you'd damn well better ask them everything 'cause they won't volunteer anything (including hidden costs and charges).

I am not saying that they don't have good products and a well deserved reputation for rotary knowledge and application of that knowledge, but you WILL pay much more than you expect for less than you expect to get unless you cross examine these folks first.

I had a SR tuned PowerFC even sent it back to get retuned, even got charged for it, even though it was purchased from there.

Recieved it back, it wouldn't even start the car.. reset it and got it dyno tuned and it worked fine.

bought my pfc from SR and asked to tune it for intake, dp, hiflo cat, exhaust, ported engine. did the dp/exhaust/intake and sr pfc all at the same time, stuck it on the dyno and made 220rwhp @10lbs. very disappointing. very conservative timing and very rich, but i totally understand why they would play it safe like that. you almost have to when not actually tuning it in the car.
