Power FC Reset pfc now overboosting?
Reset pfc now overboosting?
Recently bought this car with a blown engine, had new engine rebuilt and ported. It came back with an idle surge and then I noticed I was getting around 10 mpg highway. After reading on here (i dont have datalogit yet or at least I THINK I dont lol) I reset the pfc and did the idle learn procedure. I found a map similar to my mods and put it in but on the way to work this morning I noticed I got up to 14 psi and Im pretty sure Im on stock fuel setup. Granted I didnt go over 4k but is there a way the old map was keeping the boost under control ?
how did you put a map on there if you didn't have a Datalogit? If you are connecting to the PFC with a laptop, you most likely are using a Datalogit. Also, please provide a full list of engine-related modifications.
Pulled it off of this site http://opus.bloomcounty.org/~patrick/pfc/, just kind of chose the closest one to my setup and used the commander to put in the values. I realize ill need a wideband and eventually datalogit and dynotune but as of right now im just putting around not doing any hard driving because of the engine, i dont even think ive cracked 4k yet.

Thinking your engine has a stock fuel setup is dangerous.
Knowing what it is, is safer.
It is evident that your knowledge base for what you are trying to do is insufficient.
Find a tuner who is willing to teach you and save your engine from blowing up again.

There is probably enough done to your engine that you can't "wing it" by punching stuff into the Commander. That only works if you've got a mostly stock FD. Ported engines can run like crap without thorough tuning, because the vacuum is significantly weaker and the entire engine management system is based around engine vacuum/manifold pressure.

There are many settings to change on the stock map to make the rotary engine more safe and easier to start, and drive. The stock maps have some "trash" in them.
