Quick Question about Fuel Map Adjustment.

A higher value makes it run richer. while a lower value is leaner. (i.e. 1.3 is richer than .7) I know its dumb but i am taking a stab in the dark. the search didnt yeild any results that were pertinent to my question.

thanks for the help.

I assume the numbers 1.3 and 0.7 are from your inj map. If so they are multipliers of the value in their respective cells in the base fuel map.

As an example suppose 1.3 represented cell N1 P1 in the inj map and 0.7 represented N2 P2, if you had a value of 0.1 in N1 P1 of your base (fuel map) and a value of 0.2 in cell N2 P2

your total fuel for N1P1 would be 1.3 X 0.1 or 0.13
while N2P2 would be 0.7 X 0.2 or 0.14

so N2P2 would actually deliver more fuel than N1P1 even though the inj map value is higher

i.e 1.3>0.7

well actually it seems like all of mine are set to 1.0 it is a base map from RX7store. it is running lean and i want to add some more fuel. i am a complete newb with the PFC.

if it s a multiplier the higher the number the more you are multiplying either way right?

Yours are all 1.000 because the cells have been recalculated. You can do this using your Datalogit under the Tools menu use ReCalc Base. A lot of individuals use this when tuning AFRS. As an example after you have recalculated, perform a few runs and if you need 5% less fuel, to change 10 to 10.5 AFRs, just enter 0.95 in the inj maps appropriate cells. Generally you would use as your multiplier the recorded AFR divided by the desired AFR. There is a spreadsheet on the Datalogit site you can download so you won't have to do the calculations. One thing I didn't like about the spreadsheet is it does not take into account how many samples you have for each cell. I altered the spreadsheet to include a minimum number of samples.

Yes, the larger the mutiplier the higher the resulting value wil be.

thanks fellas. i need to get my datalogit hooked up. i am a complete newb at this, but the more i read the more i see that life is easier with the datalogit.

originally the base map was just gonna be there long enough to get me down to Rotorsports, but that has been delayed. those guys are very knowledgeable, so they have always have a full schedule. i know i am not gonna be able to keep my foot off the gas.

thanks again for the help.
