quick power fc question

i just installed my new power fc and the idle is really fucked up. I followed dale clarks idle process, but it's still idling like ****. so my question is:

can i put the stock ecu back in, even though i already cut the wires?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by your car is idling like ****? Is it bouncing up and down in a controlled rythmn, very low, very high, or whatever else? Was that the only mod you did recently to your car?

well the idle bounces up and down from about 500 - 800 rpms, i tried the entire process over and over, but my car still cant learn the idle.

i tried adjusting the idle screw like it says in dale's guide.

i resetted the pfc a few times, and it still wont work.

as the car idles, there's a huge knocking sound coming from under the car.

so i dont know what's wrong. I have new spark plugs and wires, new ngk o2 sensor, new fuel filter.

(and i actually have another thread going on this problem)

When you installed the PFC, did you change anything else at the same time?

One day the car runs fine, and then you only installed the PFC and did nothing else?

no i didnt change anything else at the same time.

with the stock ecu, it ran perfectly.

so i figured if i installed the pfc, it would just adapt to the car right away, without any problems

If all you did was cut the wires (and it would depend solely on where you cut them), you might be able to solder them back together and reinstall the PFC.

If you soldered the wires back together correctly installed the stock ECU and the car will not start then it had nothing to do with the PowerFC. Did you change your plugs and cables? Are they firing correctly? When's the last time you tested your coils?

I would check on all of these to be able to either identify the problem or rule them out since it seems to be an ignition problem. Note, that if one of your plugs was miss firing or firing on and off this would cause your RPMs to jump around as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

That's a possibility if the motor ran for a very short time and was promptly turned off. Usually less then 2 or so minutes.
