A question about power FC.

I just want to know if it is necessary to buy the power Fc commander along with the Power Fc? Or I can buy it later whenever i have the money? Also how easy is it to install, ive heard its just plug n play, or you need some more technical know how to install it'?

No, you do not need the commander with the PowerFC. The commander is used for tuning purposes and it sounds like what you just need is the base maps. I had the powerfc and it worked great.

The latest version base maps are pretty good but it all depends on your mods. If you're heavily modded, larger injectors, single turbo, then you'll need the commander.

If not then you don't have to have the commander and it's just one simple plug.

ok ok, here is the deal, u dont need the commander, but its usefull, if u do ne upgrades after u get the ecu, u will need to get it retuned or u need a commander, as far as the install, mine took me like umm 2 minutes, i got it from SR motorsports, it jus plugs right in where the old ecu went, plug for plug, and u cant screw it up each plug is diff sized, if u call sr u jus tell um what u have for upgrades they tune it, then send it, u plug it in and ur good to go, they cost a little more, but FREE TUNING, well if u get the package,

The commander is handy for monitoring engine functions. I use the 4-channel readout--boost, water temp, knock, injector duty cycle. You get used to always looking at that readout

As there is no free lunch, there is no free tuning. You get what you pay for.

But I trust Ray more than any other mail-order tuner.
