Problems w/ my reX... CONTINUED

Ok.... as some of you know... I have been having probs w/ the reX... I have posted here and on the 3rd gen board... now I'm back here.. and you will see why below. This is a contine of this thread. This was also posted on the BIG List.

First thing is first... I was saying Boost Pressure Sensor in my last post.
I have just learned that the Boost Pressure Sensor (the thing I have
replaced and what the error code relates to) is otherwise knows as the MAP
sensor

Ok... I have been playing w/ it this morning hooked up to my truck
(battery). The car is now starting (then dieing) w/ the PFC connected.
WooHoo no more flood!
I have gotten a few responses that are saying the fast clicking (which I
cannot feel now btw) is common and happens on their cars when the ignition
switch to ON. The clicking is comming from under (near the front... front
being twards the nose of the car) the intake manifold NOT between the intake
elbow and intake manifold. It sounds like a relay, I was told by someone
that it is the idle control solenoid.*shrug*

I hooked up a volt meter to my OLD MAP sensor (at the back of the plug that
plugs into it) and hooked a vacuum pump to the MAP sensor. The voltage *IS*
moving accordingly. This leads me to beleive the MAP sensor IS ok. I DO NOT
think the PFC is getting the readings tho... and here's why.

I hooked up the Commander and went to the Sensor/SW Check screen below is
what I found. (X is light on... O is light off)

W/ the car OFF and ignition switch to ON (jumper cables to my truck w/ the
truck running)

PIM: 4.86v STR O HWL O
VTA1: 0.67v A/C O FPD O
VTA2: 1.53v PWS O FPR O
VMOP: 1.25v NTR X APR O
WTRT: 2.46v CLT O PAC X
AIRT: 2.46v STP O CCN X
FUEL: 4.00v CAT X TCN O
OS2: 0.01v ELD X PRC O

On a side note... w/ the ignition switch to ON if I push the gas pedal to
the floor my PIM settings move up to 4.98v.

When I try to start the car (it starts then dies) here is what happens....
the PIM does not move.... the other voltages change a bit (if you need
exacts I can get them). The STR turns ON, FPD turns ON and the CAT turns OFF
all of those light reverse themselves when the car dies.

If I hook a vacuum pump to the MAP sensor and watch the PIM on the commander
it does not varray AT ALL. My guess it that it should move w/ the vacuum
being applied, correct me if I'm wrong.

I am going to try and find the 2 wires I need to hook the voltage meter to
at the ECU to see if the MAP sensor voltages are changing when I apply
vacuum. To see if maybe there is a problem w/ the wiring on it's way to the
ECU. I have detecitaded this day to working on the reX so I'm at home
watching my e-mail and working on the car. If you think you know whats up
and want to talk via phone e-mail your number and we'll chat it out

Thanks as usual! You guys are great!

***UPDATE*** FIXED! sorta.........

Well... I'm almost too excited to type right now.... I'm sure all of you that have gone w/out your reX for a couple of weeks can understand The car is RUNNING in my driveway right now as the PFC learns the cars quarks I'm also enjoying flooding my block w/ smoke from the MMO in the engine Heres what happened...

I decided to test the voltage of the MAP sensor back at the ECU. I looked up the wiring diagrams and found that the MAP return wire was in plug *1*. Now remember, I had only messed w/ plug 3 and 4 so I never though to check plug 1 or 2. When pulling the plug and after I found the wire I noticed that it seemed to be part way OUT of the wiring plug. I pulled on it a little and the pin plug came completly out. I then grabed the stock ecu and noticed the pin that associated w/ it was bent JUST the slightest. When I was pluging in the plug it would back out the wire so I was never getting connection. I played around w/ the wire and the plug and finally got it to sit correctly. Hooked it all back up and she started right up.

EAK!

Well I started this letter really happy and while I was typing the above my friend came in to tell me the car died. I went out and it woln't start again. All the reading seem to be ok but it just woln't start. Kind of like it's flooded but not. So now I have a new problem that maybe some of you could help w/. The car ran for about 15/20min w/ the PFC! and then just died and now woln't start. I'm not really sure what to look at and I'm thinking about pluging back in the stock ECU to see if it will start and run normally now.

BTW the clicking went away when I fixed the plug.

Thanks in advance...
Chris

Well... in the mist of being excited (refer to above post) I had forgot to recut the 4 wires for the PFC *doh!*
I pluged in the stock ECU and the car was running fine. Then cut the 4 wires
and pluged in the PFC and she's running better than ever! Let her warm up
and then took her on a well deserved drive!

The car is now back on the road and running smooth! I want to thank all of
you for sparing your time and bandwidth To think... this whole time it was a
backed out pin in the plug I never messed w/ lol. Welp tommorow morning I
get to install the Apexi N1 catback! wOOhOO!

Thanks again everyone! You guys are great!
