Power FC question (searched)

Well I got my self another FD. It came with a DP, MB, CB.
i knew as soon as I got the car that it needed a Power FC. Well i went a head and cut a check for one.
I know that it will need to be dyno tuned. But how long can it run on it with the base maps? Will it be ok for driveing it almost daily for a bit untill i find a nice beater?
Or untill i get it tuned?

Thanks, Justin

No, with those current mods on your car and running the base map it would not be safe to be driven daily. The base map on the Power FC runs leaner than the stock ECU, so therefore it would be even dangerous to run 10psi on the base map. The base map on the Power FC is there to get the car started and driven to somewhere so it can be tuned. So save up the extra money and have that Power FC tuned to get the full potential of your mods. Otherwise install the Power FC so you can get it tuned, until then don't boost or mash the gas. You do not want to end up with a blown motor for something stupid that you could have prevented. Install and get it tuned.

That statement is not true. you can run it with your set up. the base maps are set for a less restrictive exhaust. I would at some point get it tuned, but I would not worry with you mods. You can also run abount 12 lbs safely.

Thank you Mahjik, I was about to post the same link about the Base Map. Run 12lbs safely on a Tunable ECU that runs leaner than a stock ecu..... read the link Mahjik has provided please it is very informative.

It's easy to just add 3% more fuel to the upper rpm ranges until you get it tuned.
