power fc boost harness

I have the power fc and I do not like how it controlls boost. My friend gave me his avc-r with everything except the wiring harness. My queston is since i have the solenoid from the avc-r can I make a wiring harness to hook up to the power fc or do i need the kit and the map sensor. I have stock twins and pushing 12 psi no matter how high I set the duty cycle i can't hit 14. I don't want to go past 14 psi. So do i really need a 3 bar map sensor. Or should I install the avc-r and drop the pfc for controlling boost.

A common misconception is that you HAVE to buy the boost control kit for the PFC to control boost on stock twins...which you do not. The boost control kit is primarily for single turbo FD.

The solenoid is what controls boost. The wiring harness that is included has a sensor to find actual pressure i.e. altitude adjustment. Then the 3 Bar map sensor. You won't need the last two, just the 1st part.

You'll plug the actuator from the AVC-R into where the stock boost contoller goes.

If you look at the front of your car, right underneath the UIM, there will be two connectors to the left. They're both black, but one of them has a white dot on it. That is the one that controls boost.
