you say your boost was set to 15psi? that would put u on lines p10-p11 between 14.2 and 15.9 psi. from 4800 to 8k you do have way too much advance for 91 octane. looks like a apex stock fd map with some timing add at idle but thats about it.

With the fd map sensor we were at p17-19. p10 would be just coming it to boost. I don't know were you get p10-p11. If so you are off.
Thanks Robert

I kicked up the gas and down shifted from 3rd to 2nd gear. Then rolled into the throttle. Then boom.

if you made lots a pulls and your intake air temp was on the warmer side and u got into the cooler night air which would have been denser and shortened your saftey window just enough for her to pop on u. hell it also could have effected your AE enough to lean out away from your tip in afrs might have added to the effect. oh yea and not to mention the 91 octane(i.e. grape coolaid) gas u guys run prolly didnt help either.

Unhappy

Man that is seriously F-ed up. Which seal is that wrapped around the rotor? It looks like an oil seal, but I've never heard of one stretching and wrapping itself around the rotor. Bizzare!

Sorry for your loss.

My bad, I suppose you're just holding the apex seals (whats left) in place with a used water jacket o-ring? Don't know what I was thinking, but it still looks like major self-destruction.

Were these in fact stock Mazda apex seals? What thickness and how many piece seals were they?

That looks like a rubberband holding the seal in place.

Were you using synthetic oil? I say that because of the way the oil seals have fallen out.

For a street ported engine, those exhaust ports look like stock FD ports.

They were stock 2mm mazda apex seals. I use the stock coolant seals to hold the apex seals in place. As for oil I used 20/50 royal purple.
Thanks Robert

Question timing advance (actual VS logged)

Hi, you mean lead advance is 12-13* BTDC actual or logged (since the PFC adds 1-2 degrees up top)? Thanks.

Actual. What is logged is actual. The 1* and 2* at 4k and 6k respectively are added to what's in their IGL load spots but are shown on the log. If N15 and P15 for example has 10*, then the PFC will fire it at 12*.
