PFC sensor check issues

hey,

i just checked the 'sensor check' portion of my PFC today after noticing the exhaust temp. light was lit, this is what i found.

i've tried searching but couldn't come up with anything, any idea's as to why the VMOP would be reading so high and lit up? what about the **** one? and the AIRT as well?

i've checked over wiring and can't find anything wrong.

any help is greatly appreciated.

The **** is normal since you have a AP unit and there is no fuel temp sensor on the FC.

The VMOP is your oil metering pump, it is either malfunctioning or missing.

The AIRT is the intake air temp sensor, which you should be using a FD IAT sensor, has failed or is unplugged.

awesome, thanks.

for the VMOP, i still have one installed. would the high voltage still cause the OMP to operate? i'll check the IAT, it seems fine but it could have failed.

Omp has failed. It will still inject a small amount of oil, but not enough to protect the motor. With the stock ecu that would have put you in limp mode. at the very least at 10-12oz of premix oil per tank of gas until you can get it sorted.

somehow i expected this, good thing i haven't really driven it hard at all since the lamp came on.

i guess it's time to eliminate the OMP, could i leave the lines connected, disconnect the OMP and premix this way?

if yes, what ratio would you use with OMP disconnected?

You could but its a lot cleaner to block it off. minimum 1oz per gallon with no omp.

when i last had the UIM off i was going to eliminate it, then got discouraged with what was needed to remove it completely.

perhaps i'll disconnect it for now and tackle the delete next season.

should i leave the OMP connected (via clip) or disconnect it to read 0.00v

The high voltage reading means it is not working, when you unplug it the voltage will always be 4.98v and it will be highlighted, just like the air temp and fuel temp sensors are

Just checked our Vert, no OMP so the VMOP is 0.00V and highlighted, any of the other sensors (TPS, IAT, MAP, etc) unplug them and it results in a 4.98V reading.

I would suspect that your engine harness has issues if you are still seeing any VMOP voltage with is disconnected.

i'm starting to think that, just trying to figure out if it's a problem at all to leave it as-is.
