I have been reading the PFC forum and still confuse about something..
I just bought a used PFC with no commander. Now how am I suppose to know which map is that unit using? base stock or base mod? I have read there are some map that I can refer to, compare the numbers between base mod and base stock, but how am I gonna get all the numbers or the map? since I only have the PFC without commander? Do I need a laptop hook it up? How am I suppose to change any of the settings without the commander? Please let me know, and I did a search but can't find exactly what I want to know.. Thanks guys~!

 

Sorry man. You cannot adjust or even look at any of the settings without the Commander or a Datalogit. There is no way to hookup a laptop directly to the PFC. Where did you buy the PFC from? I would drive around very gingerly until you get a Commander or you might consider hooking your stock ECU back up for the time being.

 

I just bought it from ebay and its not on my car yet.. but I heard the unit will work directly to the car with base mod. I now have IC, DP,CB, intake. so will this unit work with my set up?

 

I'm sure it will work, but who knows where the settings are set at. Your in CA so you should be able to find a forum brother that would let you borrow there commander for a hour or so. Eventually I would think you would get the commander though. Having a PFC with no programming capabilities is kinda like having a fast car with crapy tires. My .02.

 

Thanks, yea, I will get a commander soon but I just wanna make sure this unit will work with my car's setting now. The guy who sold me this told me is the orginal setting that came with the unit since new, but I just wanna find out its base stock or base mod since they have 2 versions for the older and newer PFC...
